Justin McInerney
Sydney Swans youngster Justin McInerney is lightning-quick, an endurance machine and a clean user of the footy who’s best used on a wing or at half-back. The Northern Knights product was called up for his AFL debut against Melbourne at the SCG in Round 4, 2019, and although he wouldn’t feature at the top level again in his first year at the club, he was a stand-out in the NEAFL. McInerney is eyeing more opportunities at senior level in 2020.

Justin McInerney
DOB: 18 August 2000
DEBUT: 2019
DRAFT: #44, 2018 National Draft
RECRUITED FROM: Banyule (Vic)/Marcellin College (Vic)/Northern U18

You're so easily offended. You've totally misinterpreted my tone. Maybe you shouldn't imagine that I was being confrontational. Just pointing out that I find it hard to believe that you wouldn't know. There's no need for me to pull back as it wasn't meant to be aggressive in the first place
All good , my apologies , someone got me fiery earlier

Note that Juzzy has been selected at HFF this week. Will he actually play there? Personally I would run Florent forward and Juzzy on the wing. Lloyd no way. He tends to drop back anyway. Shall watch with interest on the replay as I'll literally be on the road.

No one should note where players are picked

He's very much a utility, doesn't really matter where he's named on the ground as he's shown within the same game that he can play pretty much anywhere on the ground.

Not sure I’d be keen on him at centre-half back or full forward. Ditto at centre bounce.

He’s a light framed outside player - like so many of our current team.

What picks could we get for him ? Time to trade bait

Watch him rack up 30 for ****en Hawthorn every week or something.

He is starting to get the ball, next is maybe using it well. I think the problem is he is rediscovering form and confidence in the AFL
not the VFL?

Gets brushed aside & falls off tackles too easily.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a worse game from a leading possession getter.

He’s not a dud. Just had a shocker today & is horribly out of form post suspension.

He just hasn't come back from the injury , I think he will be right, he is getting around it more, low bar but think that's a good sign.

McInerney frustrates me as a general rule but I’ll back him to come good. We’ve seen him play good footy before and he’s had time off seniors footy lately but he racked up plenty of the ball with putrid disposal. I’ll trust that with game time that’ll turn.

Problem is with our injury list we are relying on the mid tier guys like him, Florent, Hayward, Campbell to steer us around week to week and they’re showing they aren’t capable of it consistently. They’ll play well one week when they are required to step up as leaders - Hayward against North or last week, Florent against Collingwood for example - and they can be good players in a side that is steered by someone else, but these guys can’t do it consistently themselves when they are the leaders. That’s what I’ve learned with Gulden, Papley, and Mills out.

An idiot in the Murdoch rag has given him the Swans best and Lloyd and Blakey as well

They just look at stats half the time that watching the game.

I don't think McInerney is the biggest issue we have right now, his still running to the right spots, finding the ball and doing what needs to be done.

If his disposal was up to scratch over the weekend we wouldn't be too concerned with his performance.

Problem is if you get it near 30 times and butcher it most times that's even worse than only getting it 15 times. Boy his kicking has fallen off a cliff, but I have zero confifence in Cox not being soft so he'll be gifted another game this week regardless of turnovers.
