Not ready to number 1 ruck yet IMO.
Unless we acquire a ready made ruck/forward such as a Ladhams type, I would play, put games into TDK as the number 1 ruck

Yeah I’d play TDK first ruck as well next year as he will come back next season a bit more toned. Like Pitt as backup. Carlton wouldn’t have signed him otherwise.

I quite like Pittonet. For one, i think he has a great attitude. Wants, and will train to be the No1 Ruck, but smart enough and in touch with team first mentality to know that TDK should and will probably be No1 Ruck. I heard him attest to this in an impressive interview a while back.
I think they can be a good duo together on the list. If TDK flies outta the gates next year on his career, then Pitto will be great backup and push him further on the track. If TDK needs another year or 2 of playing bits n pieces up forward then Pitto can handle the Ruck adequately.
As a few said earlier, Pitto himself is still young and bound to improve too. He needs to sharpen up his tapwork, but he has a workhorse base already. Polish his game up a bit more, maybe mongrel up a tad more, and he's not far off Nank style.
More than happy to have him on our list. TDK is our shot at a star. Pitt a good workhorse who can compete already and get better.

I like Pittonet, especially his edge. Just wish he’d stop taking it out of the ruck and just tap/hit/punch the thing. But happy he’s re-signed. Think he’s as good as most of the available options.
Pitto is much better than many give him credit for. TDK has amazing potential, but would be surprised if they don’t work in tandem for 2022 at least. Great clubman, great signing.

Know for a fact that he was carrying an ankle niggle for a few weeks before he finished for the year.

TDK needs Pitt. Pitt needs TDK.

Happy with this, still a developing ruckman, good attitude , will also allow TDK to develop naturally rather than have us destroy him playing him as a full time first ruck before he's ready to do so.

Pitto was a huge reason why Cripps won the Brownlow last year and health permitting will help take us a long way towards finals this year.
Would like him to add more around the ground but for his limitations there's not many better than Pitto.

Anyone listen to the Marc Murphy podcast episode 3? It was him interviewing Kreuzer.
Kreuzer said Pitto is very similar to him, just less athletic and aerobic. But at least we have confidence that at any ruck contest, he won't get bullied and is actually more likely than not to give us an advantage.
For mine he's clearly ahead of TDK who looks flashy but doesn't really provide much more around the ground...and is significantly worse in the ruck contests.

When we see how much we have struggled at centre clearances at various times, you realise the significance of Pitto having double the hitouts to advantage of TDK is. Then there is the issue of how many taps to advantage the opposing ruck gets against each. If Pitto diminishes the output of the opposition ruck as well, compared to TDK, that's an awful lot of ball we are getting extra from him.
Remembering of course, that our midfield does not have burst speed, but we can look quick if we are taking the ball from the ruck and moving it on. The significance of this stat should not be overlooked.
