No I wouldnāt be doing it for parishsure but then what stops you doing that across a team them you all of a sudden have 500k tide Up in over payments.
what if we need to pay and extra 50-100k to keep parish also? Do we do that?
what about Ridley? Mic Martin? Perkins? Hobbs?
thats what gets you into trouble.
I probably sound like an alarmist but I donāt see Redman as that player you need to overpay. For as good as he can be. He does some very dumb things too
Pleasantly surprising. Stringer when he signed his last deal was coming off a 2nd half of the season where he was in the top few players in the comp. Pete signed for 4 after kicking 60 and a bnf. McGrath and Ridley would've been close i would've assumed. That we managed to keep a 5 at the start of all of their yearly payments is a good thing.why is it surprising?
we have one of the youngest lists in the afl, not surprising at all that we have a lot of head room, what we do need to be aware of that in the future we need to make room for martin, Hobbs, Perkins etc that will demand higher salaries in the future.
2023 has shown essendon has a s**t load of youth talent from 20 - 25, and other clubs will come for them
if we over pay on blokes like Redman now it will hurt us later.

In regards to Red Dog you've said yes to 650k x 6 but no to 700k x 6? Doesn't really make sense to me but you're entitled to your opinion.

Redman is not only a gun but a heart and soul player, if we lose him and donāt have a ready made replacement our defense / team will be a lot worse next year.
Not all players have this sort of scenario when theyāre out of contract, and we donāt even know whatās his headspace. Does he want to go play for Adelaide? Does he just want to leave essendon? Is it money?
All Iām saying is for an extra 50-100k id rather pay it and have redman on the list as we head into a potential window. Because to go and replace him we are just going to have to overpay someone else, itās really the same situation.

The waiting game on a key Bomber; could Grundy be eyeing a third club?
In this edition of Money Talks, Tom De Koningās big call looms with Carlton relatively constrained by a tight salary cap; a free agent Demon is in demand; and the waiting game on an important Bomber.www.theage.com.au
This article states that sources have told the Age that the reports re crows offer arent correct and he is still more likely to stay.

Waiting game on Bomber
The two clubs in the race for star Essendon defender Mason Redman are still waiting for him to make a call, but football industry sources expect him to remain in the red and black.
It was widely reported that Adelaide made a long-term offer to Redman via his agent, Ben Williams, but sources familiar with the situation told Money Talks this was not the case. The Age has confirmed that Redman has an offer from the Bombers.
This masthead previously reported the Crowsā interest in the 25-year-old restricted free agent but that they were not super aggressive in their pursuit.
Redman would be an excellent addition to Adelaideās list, after they traded for Izak Rankine and Jordan Dawson in the past two years, but they are well served behind the ball with medium-sized emerging talents Max Michalanney, Wayne Milera and Mitch Hinge.
The 97-gamer is originally from Millicent ā located roughly between Adelaide and Melbourne ā but he lived in Adelaide when he played for Glenelg in the SANFL before he was drafted. ā Marc McGowan
The way he's going we'll have father/son rights anyway. 97 games! When did that happen...
Was actually a quote he made in an interview. It is in this threadWasnt it already said that it wasnt about money by ITK posters?
Why offer more than what we have then?
I am very jizzed right now
