Great news - it’s a testament to the hard work on his rehabilitation he’s put in since 2021 - hope he tears it up this weekend - his silky skills and smooth movement through traffic is just what we need. :thumbsu:
And his poise/delivery on both sides of the body.

Both Cuners and Jack Martin are a long way off being match fit but what they do offer is a point of difference. Clean hands and quick thinkers.

Hitting a pack at full speed and anticipating where the ball is most likely to spill should be a relatively easy skill for an afl footballer but it's not. Both 21 & 28 are very good at it.

There is nothing like a skillful, smart footballer. He only had a dozen possessions but they are hard to forgot. The sidestep, the pace, the vision, hands below the knees. He and JM actually are two players with similar traits that have cost us big time with injuries. What could have been.

It is one game. Do not get sucked in by the conditional footballers on our list due to 1 win against GC in Melbourne. If cunningham plays the last 9 games injury free and gets through a pre season-I will take notice. If we were offered a good draft pick for Cunners, I would still take it.

Agree with your sentiment but Cuningham thread is not the place for it.

Many players would’ve retired after the setbacks he’s had.

If he gets through the back half of the season unscathed we must retain him.

Conditional is completely not the right word.

Conditional is completely not the right word.
Our list has too many conditional footballers
In Cunningham's translating his ability to performance is coniditional on his fitness.
Same with Martin and Marchbank.
The club can stick on the path of mediocrity or make the hard calls and build a more talented and resilient list.

This is not the place to air your grievances about our list. Unless you've got something to say about Cuningham and his game on the weekend, take it elsewhere.

Every player's ability is conditional on their fitness... his problem was doing his knee, which is hardly something you can control.
If he makes it through unscathed for the rest of the season and performs he is still worth much more to us than if we were to trade him.

This happens to be David's player thread.

Take it elsewhere please.

So unfortunate when a guy is 26yo and should be in his prime and he's still trying to get started.

Hope he stays fit and can be the best version of himself.

I think we've all seen some glimpses that his best COULD be very good and bring something nicely different to the team.
