I’ve seen all of his return games this year and is at least another 3 weeks of vfl before considering him.
This week he was 20 times better than previous where he has been timid and poorly skilled.
Reminded us yesterday of his enormous talent
i agree, nowhere near it on merit atm, but every week he takes another step towards whats hes capable of.

Where would this bloke play once he’s back in the senior team ? I feel like our backline is pretty strong , I guess broad/valuation are coming to the end of their careers. Could he slot on the wing or up forward ?

Gibbo is like another 1st round pick going into next year. Another pre-season in the gym to go with his already great running power.
Unbelievable talent with his incredible leap and intercepting. Can see how smart he is, there is no doubt a spot for in the team somewhere.
Can't wait to see him in the seniors soon.

not sure he's ready yet. only watched a couple of quarters on Saturday but most of his other games. he's not getting involved in many marking contests. probably under instruction. I remember early days he flew at everything. my hope is he just gets thru the year un injured and gains some confidence in his body and sets himself up for next year.

Didn't watch but is he close to being ready for a call-up? Not that we really have a spot
Wouldnt be playing him the AFL for atleast another 2 weeks, maybe he can play the last 2 games.

I think physically he’s close. He was moving really well and picking the ball off his toes no problem.

Think it’s about touch now, he spoiled a lot instead of going for his marks. Think the other players need to learn to use him across back 50 too.

Blighty and Young have been racking up 20 touches no problem, I think he needs to get somewhere near that before a call up

Feel like we've said that before. Fingers crossed it happens this time

He should be fine. The first injury, the hamstring tendon was a freak situation compounded by all sorts of complications.

The second one I feel the club did mismanage that playing him his second game in 5 days after 18 months not playing. And he had to take on the toughest key forward combination in the AFL at the time in Curnow and McKay.

Because he has the tank, and the skills, he is one guy I wouldn't mind seeing just run up and down a wing for 2026 without too much pressure on him, then see what we need from there.

Looking forward to seeing Gibcus back in the team next year, but it's starting to look like a huge miss on Naz (he went two picks after Josh)! How amazing would our future look with Naz running around in the yellow and black.

Easy to say in hindsight but you're also not wrong. Gibcus was the clear pick at the time and from memory was a chance to go to GWS at 4.

in hindsight yes but blaming the recruiters is a bit rich for mine

imagine if Adelaide drafted him instead of Rachelle

Hindsight is wonderful.
Gibcus was drafted to succeed Rance, Grimes, Astbury and he would of if not for injuries.
We also had Rioli and Short playing pretty well at that stage so no major need for NAS that year.

Ground surfaces are often pretty average this time of year, you’re playing on better surfaces at AFL level.
And there’s just as many physical contests at VFL level . Slower game doesn’t necessarily mean less injuries.

Imagine in Hindsight if the Dees took Dusty with one of their picks
