Didn't look comfortable being out there, but expected. See out the rest of the year in the VFL will do him good no point rushing him back.
Understandable. His body had betrayed him a few times. Wont be pushing too hard at the start. Need to warm up.

Always think about Grimes.

2011 - 2016, injured and missing large chunks of games, before his body got right.

Can only assume it's the same for Gibcus. He is a genuine gun from what we have seen. Hope like hell is comes back from all of this!
Be surprised if he hasn't been talking with Grimes & Astbury.... It's great to see him back & get through the game. I'm completely fine with him taking all the time he needs to regain confidence in his body again...

he is worth + 3 wins a season with him in the team
I'm still thinking this guy could be a genuine attacking weapon....

He's got a tank, he can mark, he can kick.

Got Dick Clay written all over him. We have plenty of key backs, let him stroll up and down a wing for a couple of seasons before moving back to defence in his prime.

Time to answer the call of Bourke-Barrot-Clay with Gibcus-Harley Reid-Trainor.

You know it makes sense.

Thought he took a huge step today. Hopefully he keeps building and he's back playing seniors in a few weeks.
wouldnt be the worst thing if he doesnt quite get there. as long as hes fit and goes into the pre with full confidence in his body. needs to rebuild his game for the ground up just about been that long since hes played consistently.

Definitely.
Same mindset we had with Hotton. When he’s ready play him in the AFL.
You’re no less likely to get injured playing VFL.
That's incorrect. AFL players are stronger and faster so there's more chance to get injured.

Ground surfaces are often pretty average this time of year, you’re playing on better surfaces at AFL level.
And there’s just as many physical contests at VFL level . Slower game doesn’t necessarily mean less injuries.

More likely to get stitched up with a shit pass from a park footballer lol

Without the data to back it up but at a guess I would say injury rates in the AFL and VFL would be pretty similar with any real difference negligible especially if we are talking about soft tissue injuries

No point holding him back if his fitness and form warrants selection
If he’s going to get injured it will happen at either level

Well you can't drop Young, Miller or Brown for him at this stage.
