Stats never show it with him. Agree completely about converting his shots - he always gets a couple of chances at least. IMO Kayne has been terrific all year and was even better again tonight.

I think he's been getting better each week. The least of our problems right now, which feels like a big change to last year when he felt like a liability.

Personally, I think he's been quite good all season so far, and today was just a continuation of that form.

I think he's a bit of a confidence player. Starting the year well has been good for him.

I know he misses set shots but the shortest forward is always going to suffer when the attack is dysfunctional. If he gets more opportunities to score goals will come.

The biggest thing that helped his game yesterday is that he wasn't the only forward pressuring. Rather than being the only one trying to stop 6 blokes he could just nail the 1 or 2. His pressure has been top notch all year, but there hasn't been others to help him out.

He is also underrated in the air. Rarely loses an aerial contest, even against bigger guys. Might not always win the contest but always splits it. His field kicking looks to have improved this year too. Just needs to sharpen his goalkicking, but he is hardly alone in that regard. He could hardly miss a goal in his first year, so hopefully it's a confidence thing.

Was never the problem either. He's not some plodder who just cracks in. He covers 15km+ a game to cover his teammates defensive deficiencies and as he showed on Saturday is an excellent aerialist for his size too.

No he's not kicking goals and part of that is on him to manage fatigue and composure but part of it is also on the fact he hasn't usually had the luxury of just lurking around the forward line hoping for opportunities like some small forwards.

11 disposals, 6 score involvements, 2 contested marks, 7 tackles, 10 ratings points (2-yr average about 6). It's a pretty effective 11-touch game. Looks to me like he's clearly trying to make his touches count more this year.

It’s great watching him at games. He’s such an annoying little prick - you can see why he get frees, he baits defenders into loosing their cool.

He bumps into the opposition backmen kicking out of defense and goes as hard as he can at the man every time he can - right to the absolute limit.

If a player knows the plan and can execute the plan we leave that player where he is.

Our system is not designed to highlight any one players anything.

Our system is meant to work so that the plan is paramount and anything outside of that is secondary.

It is why we play players through ridiculous form slumps. It's why we seem to coach players to vanilla sameness.

Integral in stopping opposition rebounds.

He also seems to be comfortable being that aggressive forward that puts it all on the line. The kid doesn't budge in the air or in the clinches. Very strong in the air I might add. (Others have mentioned)

Very rarely would footballers have predator in them, he does. He sees man with ball and tackles him down before his teammates can shout 'you're hot!'.

Goal-kicking will improve with more opportunities. 100% he will train from various angles this week. (Hopefully...)
