He'd qualify for a 4th year on the rookie list under the new rules. If he’s to be retained beyond this year, the club would need to upgrade him to the senior list.
I’m not sure that’ll happen.

Not to familiar with the rules so basically the next 15 or so games left in the VFL he needs to show enough to be upgraded?
Not to anyone that has watched him play for the last 18 months. Was so close to getting a call up and then got a niggle finally a spot opened up, sick of Francis a senior player getting cheap touches in the twos and thinking he is better than EdwardsA little surprising.
I'm with you Kbroome. Been watching him too. Very important to the seconds backline as we are seeing at the moment in his absence. Not to anyone that has watched him play for the last 18 months. Yep he comes from a basketball background. He still played but definitely wasn't as exposed as other players are in footy statesI'm with you Kbroome. Been watching him too. Very important to the seconds backline as we are seeing at the moment in his absence.
Will has lots of athletic ability such as a sub 3 second 20m sprint and an excellent leap. He is also an excellent mark and has a strong frame. All elements suitable for a KP player. What's lacking is a childhood exposure to the game as is the case with a lot of local players. With experience he will be a great asset to the side. His extension gives me some confidence that the club knows what it is doing and probably also indicates that his leg injury is not career threatening.
Back in his Academy days Will played at both ends. His first seniors preseason game he played forward. Everything since has been down back so I'm pretty sure that's where his future lies.28/12 No.28. Big Will. Sounds like a good preseason so far. Chris Keane named him as one to rise this year. Big, strong, quick and a big kick. Hopefully he can start showing enough to put pressure on the mainstays or slot in down back...Be an awesome addition for the big forwards.
Thanks Kiama Chris..Back in his Academy days Will played at both ends. His first seniors preseason game he played forward. Everything since has been down back so I'm pretty sure that's where his future lies.
He's easily our biggest defender so I remain hopeful that he, Melican and McCartin will be our tall defenders with Serong (and/or Snell) as a flexible tall/mid replacing Rampe, Blakey and hopefully Bice as the attacking half backs and Cunningham (until retirement) and Wicks on smalls.
Took it exactly as you meant it but just in case....Thanks Kiama Chris..
It was meant to read ...slot in down back with our other keys.. as others have suggested (maybe you) that one of him, McCartin or Melican intercepting.
Was also meant to read as playing on oppo big forwards..not in our fwds
big and, hopefully, mobile ... could be so importantBack in his Academy days Will played at both ends. His first seniors preseason game he played forward. Everything since has been down back so I'm pretty sure that's where his future lies.
