Ahead of our first game at Adelaide Oval, a few interesting points about the grounds Boomer has played at:

When North play at Adelaide Oval this week, for the first time in the club's history, it will be the 17th AFL/VFL Ground Boomer has played at.

The others? MCG, AFL Park (Waverley), Optus Oval (Prince Park), AAMI, SCG, the WACA, Paterson's, Manuka, the Gabba, Docklands, Kardinia, Aurora, Metricon, ANZ, Blundstone, and Skoda.

He began his career before Docklands stadium was even built, but has played more games at it than anywhere else. He has played at it as Colonial Stadium, Telstra Dome and Etihad Stadium.

He has played at Kardinia as Skilled Stadium, Shell Stadium and Simonds Stadium.

He has played at AAMI Stadium back when it was known as Football Park.

North have only ever played one game at ANZ Stadium, the 2008 Elimination Final, which he played in.

Later this year he will play at "StarTrack Oval", the new name for Manuka, for the 'first time'. He's the only North player to play in every home game we ever had at Manuka.

Not only has he played against the Suns at Metricon, but he played there when North hosted home games there.

Traeger Park (Alice Springs) TIO Stadium (Darwin) Westpac Centre (NZ) Cazalys and Blacktown are recently-used grounds that he has never played at.

Scott Lucas on the run home last night in his "not so obvious" segment brought up Boomer and his amazing longevity.

Some key stats:

He is averaging career high disposal average at the minute
He is 11th in the AFL for goal assists and 7th in the AFL for score involvements.
Equal second on the club goal kicking list. At age 36.
We do need to pinch ourselves that we are witnessing a once in a generation player here.

I refuse to believe he assists with goals.

Luffy mentioned on SEN today that he also leads the league for the old one/two plays, where a player gives off a handball and receives it back or kicks, runs on and receives it back. He leads that stat by a long way too apparently.

Running power!

How any so called expert can pick a mid year AA team and leave him out is staggering.

The thing about All Australian selection is that there has to be succession planning otherwise if you have a bunch of very experienced players retire around the same time, the team would be decimated just like the Australian cricket team post Chappell/Marsh/Lillee or Warne/McGrath/Gilchrist/Hayden. Sadly, Boomer is our Simon Katich - a sacrificial lamb to allow us to get games into the next generation of All Australian players.

Makes me proud does Boomer. Not only at how brilliant he is playing but at how opposition fans envy us.
A true shinboner. Love him. He is a big part of what makes our club so good.

Been our best player this year up until now for mine.

In fact I think he may be playing better than ever.

Incredible.
I hear thee. He is a genuine pocket rocket. I've spoken to Boomer at training a few times and he seems like a pretty switched on sort of character. Imagine him and Fletcher play their 400th in the same game!!!!!
I would definitely sit at ground level for that.

I'm beginning to think this will never come. He will be too good for the sub role until he either a) loses his pace or b) loses his passion for the game and then he will retire. I hope he makes it to 427 but that is still 3 years off so anything could happen in that time frame
