Selection No.59 – Cameron Polson
Stephen Silvagni says: "Cam only played a couple of games early and dislocated his shoulder, but we think he's going to be a very good player. He's a 184cm midfielder, who captained Haileybury College and played at the Sandringham Dragons in the TAC Cup. He did a sub-three-second 20m sprint at the Combine."
Stop...you had me at serious injury.

For those who want some more highlights from Cam's year at Haileybury/Sandy - he reminds me of Nathan Hrovat in a lot of ways.

Has leadership, lightnight speed and agility, excellent reader of the ball, good goal-sense and finishing, is a terrier when tackling... what's not to like?!

Very early, but I'm claiming him as #MyBoy If he can get his body right for preseason, he could surprise a few and give Wright, Sumner and co a run for their money in 2017.

Probably need to be a bit wary looking at school footy highlights...but bloody hell...the speed, how he uses the speed, the awareness, fend offs, the follow ups and support work, the tackles...not unlike our very own Cuningham. Certainly doesn't look 184cm

Sorry mate, flash player running a bit slow so didn't see it when flicking through the first time! Got some wheels this kid, and if he is already 180+ as SOS believes, I think he'll get a run quicker than expected. Time will tell, but LOVE the look of him.

Not sure it's been said, but can Cam accumulate possies?

You can see the growth and development in him just from that video i think. Just imagine now that he is in a full time AFL environment!

With the way he plays, it looks like he'll need to learn how to reign in his work rate to conserve if he wants to push past that 17-22 touch range, but those are some pretty damaging touches.

I like the highlights even if most were against school teams
He runs quick, he kicks goals, nice skills, reads the ball of packs and even dished out a hip n shoulder
That's enough to work with at pick 59

Pretty good highlights video. One piece of play that really stood out for me was his front & centre positioning at a marking contest in the forward line (0.52sec). Haven't seen that sort of positioning at marking contests in the Carlton forward line since Betts & Garlett have gone.

Might be a righty, but uses the left numerous times in those highlights!

I love how were recruiting guys who can kick now, compared to Richmond who are doing the opposite, haha.
