With Ridley injured, is Kondo a chance to debut in round one?
I think McKay, Reid, McGrath, and Redman are locks in the back 7, then 3 spots between Kondo, Johnson, Nguyen and Farrow.

It’s great signs that he’s in the 22

One would think Robey and Farrow are likely to be sure things. We must be a good chance for 5/5 in the 2025 draft

2024 still possible too if Unwin and Gerryn keep taking steps forward

How is backing in a kid in his debut to be able to do a job for the team 'ruining his confidence right out of the gate'?
He'd get smacked. He's a loose defender whose biggest weakness is playing on someone like Gunston who would expose him one on one and on the lead.

Let him run loose or match up on a small to start and be an intercept player instead.

His actual defence is not good enough yet to be given a specific job on someone.
They will use him more as an interceptor/ distributor off half back.

According to Max Kondogiannis' schoolboy coach, Andrew Hamilton, the 18-year-old has done a lot of growing up over the past few years.
...
"Max is an incredibly switched on individual," Hamilton remarked.

"He treated footy like a subject, really. He was journaling, note taking, reflecting. He would turn up to meetings with me with his notebook. He was very diligent and detailed, almost hyper-focused at times in the way he went about it.

I don’t care who he plays on. I’m just looking forward to watching these young blokes develop. Remember Sheedy playing Fletcher on Kernahan, didn’t do his long term development any harm at all.
Might've played 500 if he wasnt thrown to the wolves early.

Didn’t take us long to turn a known kicker at junior level to a handballer at AFL level. If we want to get the most out of him we want the 5 kicks and 10 handballs to be reversed.

Trial by fire almost for the young lad but thought he played pretty well. Him, Reid and Hayes are a pretty solid core to build around.

May have to find a few replacements to come in and make that happen. He will be okay as we go along. He will gain some confidence.

Giving him some targets down the ground to kick to might help
