Maybe not at AFL level but the club for some reason called him a ‘defender’ in the injury update after calling him a forward all summer
Typo.

But what if Hurley comes back as well? Surely wouldn’t have Hooker, Hurley and Ambrose all in the forward line. Stewart will definitely go back when he returns, don’t see why not Ambrose if he gets back earlier
VFL.

It was said aloud in the video 👀
Voiceo :p
Used to calling him a defender over the journey. They have been pretty set in where players are playing .

Kicking goals again, played an AFL-style game in the VFL 🤷‍♀️
Patrick Ambrose
Stats: 12 disposals, two goals, five marks, six tackles

“Patty was good. He ended up kicking two goals. He had opportunities to kick a couple more but he presented really well. Like Alec (Waterman) he played AFL-style football in the VFL. He was strong in the contest, fierce with his attack on the ball and the opponents."

I'd honestly probably tag Walsh over Cripps. Reckon he's more dangerous at the moment.
No doubt at all. Just entertaining the idea of an endurance beast taking on Cripps. If you were gunna tag Walsh I'd go with Ham. Like the job he did on Sidebum. If not Langers or the Guelf even.

Competed hard, good effort, but barely got any rest. Seems to be a general theme that no one played well because the interchange bench was full.
Patrick Ambrose
Stats: 17 disposals, one goal, three marks, three hitouts

“Another good effort from Patty. I think he only had one rest for the whole game. He ran hard all game, presented for us really well. I thought he was good in the contest and competed hard, but it was a tough day for our forwards to be honest.”

6 goals in the VFL... reckon he comes in?

A six-goal performance from Patrick Ambrose has steered Essendon to a 15-point VFL win over Frankston at Windy Hill on Sunday.

In his fourth game back from a foot injury that sidelined him in 2020, the 29-year-old proved the difference in a tight battle, as the Bombers ran away from the Dolphins in a 12.11 (83) to 10.8 (68) victory.

Patrick Ambrose clunked just about everything in sight to earn himself a brilliant bag of six goals.

Right out of the gate, it was clear Frankston was hungry for the ball, consistently pushing forward and having plenty of inside 50s, but the Bombers’ defensive pressure was strong and counteracted many of the Dolphins’ forward efforts.

Essendon was able to continue to dominate defensively, leading the tackle count 13 to five at the halfway point of the quarter.

Despite this, the rest of the first term saw a pretty even contest between the two sides, with Frankston outscoring Essendon three goals to two and finish the quarter with a three-point lead.

The second quarter saw both teams continue to fight for dominance, and while Essendon saw its fair share of the ball in its forward half, Frankston’s backline had strength in numbers.

Put the fear of god into the Roos. Any cheap shots off the ball on Merrett will come back 10 times more painfully. Wouldn't mind him doing a play the man shot on zurhaar as a friendly pay back for all his Cheap shots on players who go the ball when he just lines then up

10 marks as well apparently.

Patrick Ambrose
Stats: 14 disposals, six goals, 10 marks, three tackles

“Really good game from Patty. He had 10 marks at VFL level and kicked six goals. In those conditions they weren't easy shots but he presented all day and was a great focal point for us. When the game was there to be won, he really stood up for us.”
