I think it's been turned down through benefit of the doubt. I agree with Warne and Gower but the umpire has his own standards to apply.
That would be fine if there was any doubt.

Anyway, dug up this one from the last England tour

Cricket is much worse with DRS and 3rd umpires. I thought the idea was to get the right decisions more often than not - it clearly is failing in this regard. It's become a tactical thing and is confusing the public and players more than ever. Either fix it or scrap the bloody lot of it.
Its gotten really messy this series, much akin to the inconclusive AFL system and in that howlers are being defended by the line 'Oh well you shouldn't have used up your reviews'. Doesn't negate the fact some dead awful calls have been made.

Cricket is now in serious trouble, it is out of control and the authorities have problems. It is either officiated by incompetence or it's corrupt. Cricket has become farcical and now unwatchable.
Should have been out, but I think you've lost it a bit there. Australia've had one bad decision in this match that they couldn't counter-act with a review, and it's not as if it's swung the balance of the match.

**** the reviews, how about just getting one it right in real time?

Why have umpires on the ground in the first place if you're just gonna have to review it? Incompetence is a massive issue for an international competition IMO.

As the commentators (who all agreed it was out) rightly said, when those sorts of catches are referred these days, they are hardly ever given. And of course the fact that the Aussies pissed away their reviews is relevant. Some of those reviews yesterday were ridiculous.
