It was hilarious when he mentioned how talking him up would have gone to India. Uh no, India have their own TV station here

Well that's great, can't watch it in regional WA.
Looks like it's being shown in WA on GEM but on a 3hr delay so even the matches played here are delayed now.

Can't say I really care much about watching this match though.

Lol australia commentators no shit all, perera is there because he's a big hitter. he made 65 of 35 of south africa i think. Matthews has been average for a while.

mathews needs a bit of time to get in, perera can hit the ball big and doesn't take long to get in, makes sense to me

I think matthews should move up the order so he gets a longer bat, always comes in the last 15 overs, hasn't got time.

i like dilshan at 6 in both the odi and test sides tbh, wouldn't mind seeing something like

tharanga
chandimal
sangakkara
mathews
jayawardene
dilshan
perera

unfortunate for thirimanne but he'll get many chances, he's a great player to watch, very gritty

It sickens me that Paul Rieffel keeps getting handed ODIs (let alone, prominant domestic and tour matches) just because he's a former player and has buddies in high places. Because it sure as hell isn't for his performances in domestic matches. There's probably 1000 superior umpires going around in club cricket accross Australia.

Chandimal doesn't open, he strugles against left arm new bowlers. Jayawardene should open, averages 50 for Sri lanka when he does.

good call, forgot about mahela. in that case, chandimal slots in at 5 with mathews at 4

and chandimal with tharanga might be a bit too similar

He'd done a pretty good job in the matches I've seen him umpire but he definitely got fasttracked due to being a former player, the ICC are pretty keen to get more former players into umpiring.
