Anyways, just got home from work. What's the pitch assessment?
Doing a bit. Swing and movement off the deck.

What's going to be interesting is, just how much movement there is in the middle session. Bowlers are still giving one/two poor balls over the course of an over that can be scored off, though, and their length is still consistently about a foot to half a foot shorter than it needs to be to make the most of the conditions, IMO.

Marnus hanging in there after Burns got out early... there is a difference between him doing it now and Bancroft doing it in he Ashes. Bancroft still looked like getting out every over.

always think the keeper up to the stumps is very overrated.
It's only effective for the purpose of getting Labuschagne back in his crease. Abbas would be a nightmare to do it to with his seam movement.

Lol keeper standing up to an opening bowler
... who bowls gentle 125 km an hour.

Don't know why more keepers at international level don't do it. Phillander, Southee, Abbas, Anderson; hell, even Mitch Marsh wouldn't be a bad candidate in English conditions. Anything to get players who are trying to counter the swing/seam movement of a decent bowler is going to struggle when deprived of their ability to choose where to hit the ball.
