So your defence is a West Indian and Pakistani player are fat but they played OK so it's all good....

Where are they ranked? Somewhere between laughing stock and has been?

That says everything about their standards and why both teams will never amount to anything....

where were Australia ranked when Warne was playing? Where were they ranked at the back half of Merv’s career? David Boon? SA with Kallis, who while not exactly a slob was generally carrying a bit more than he needed to on his already large frame? Inzamam led a very good Pakistan side with the bat.
I think if you’re basing your argument on the world rankings of the WI (who incidentally won their last series against England. India and Australia didn’t) and Pakistan, its feeble.

What good does 3 extra rolls do?

You don't think fitness plays a part in concentration? Stamina? Fielding? Running between wickets? Agility?

You reckon his team mates would appreciate him the same if he was pigging out while they were eating their veggies?

has Shah run anyone out with his lack of fitness? Doesn’t matter how fit he gets, he will be slow. So unless his fatigue is costing someone it’s irrelevant. He’s bowling a thousand overs an innings at the moment so there’s a fair chance he’d boast better match fitness than anyone in this thread.

Irrelevant. This is 2019.

We know better now.

Every athlete owes it to themselves to be at peak fitness.

Some sports are slower to catch on.

Sorry, why was Cummins held back for so long?

Starc/Cummins is a nightmarish combo for most tailenders because the former has a brilliant yorker while the latter has brutal short deliveries, but Paine has used both relatively sparingly.

irrelevant? Half the blokes on that field played against Jacques Kallis. Statistically probably the greatest cricketer the game has seen.

Oh we’ve moved on that far in 4 years have we?

He must have alotta pies to make up for that workload...

Meanwhile his team is s**t.

How you can defend overweight athletes in 2019 is beyond comprehension.

Feels like Paine has flip flopped between wanting to enforce the follow-on or not, so we got a lot of spin to rest the quicks, but now he's having to bowl them and we'll probably bat again anyway, so we basically just gave Yasir a generous amount of time not having to deal with the quicks.

You quoted dinosaurs.

Cosgrove was nothing because he probably had the same standards as Boon in the wrong era.

It feels more like Paine kinda wanted to give the bowlers a rest and have us bat again, so he's gone through the motions.

He's done that three times this series. Against a better side it would cost us dearly but barring a miracle it seems academic here.
