Well we do manage to play overs on failure so predicting it carries a higher probability;):D
Actually I haven't read any posts where people have been stating this. In actual fact it's people more pissed off as they manage to predict things better than the imbeciles paid $100k's to do the job.

Dion Prestia is unlikely to return this season after scans confirm a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee suffered during Gold Coast's loss against Collingwood.

"It is obviously an extremely disappointing setback for Dion. He has had a good start to the season and his leadership on and off the ground has grown enormously," Gold Coast general manager of football operations Marcus Ashcroft said.

Dion Prestia will head to Melbourne for minor knee surgery.
Prestia pulled up sore after Gold Coast's win over the Brisbane Lions and scans revealed he would need surgery.
"It appears he needs a minor clean up," Suns general manager of football operations Marcus Ashcroft said.
"We will send him down to see Julian Feller and will aim to get the surgery as soon as we can."

Dion Prestia has played his last game for 2016 – and possibly his last in Suns colours.
Prestia will have surgery in Melbourne on Tuesday afternoon, with his knee injury worse than first thought.
The out-of-contract 23-year-old has been playing with pain for much of the season, but aggravated the problem in round 16 against the Brisbane Lions. The recovery period is six weeks, ruling Prestia out of a return to action this year.

"He'll miss the rest of the year," Gold Coast football manager Marcus Ashcroft said. "We thought it'd be touch and go, but with five weeks remaining, there's not enough time to come back. "He's pushed through most of the year with what he's had."
Michael Whiting for AFL.com.au

Would come as no surprise if his knee is degenerative sadly, depending on what they did with that meniscus back in 2015. I hope he gets the best care as say Burgoyne did for Hawthorn. Perhaps we ought not have rushed him in. Burgoyne for example didn't play for some 5-6 weeks due to other niggles it was claimed back then.

Thought he was actually pretty good last night. Didn't get a lot of it but had a bit more zip and composure. Can only really think of one genuinely poor kick.
Yes it was one of his famous shanks, i reckon a Thunderbirds marionette would have more penetration and accuracy with its kicking. There is something seriously wrong with his kicking style but cant put my finger on it. Almost like he was two metres tall at some point and now he is only knee high to a grasshopper he gets the timing wrong with the ball drop.

The side is obviously better with him in it, even if his numbers are not always huge.
I suspect it may be some of those things that don't show up in the official stats like a clever block here, or a neat little tap there.
He seemed to be in the thick of it a bit last night and I was surprised to see only 22 possessions.

Spot on.
Like Caddy. Doesn't get huge numbers but makes others around him better.

Maybe he's getting a jab in the leg and its doing funny things to his kicking style...

I was keeping an eye on him around the contest and he looks cooked. Very slow to react and chase when the opposition has the ball, whether that be by choice or his body failing him. I'm doubtful we will get a good standard 20+ game season out of him, he looked like he struggled to run or was avoiding it at every opportunity.

No pre-season will do that to you. This year may be a right-off just hope he gets a good run at it with injury.

I have the faith

He has a bad history behind him though and he is old enough that it's a trend. I think we have another conca, good when he gets an I jury free run but that is always going to be a very limited time.

How does a limited preseason make your kicking go to shit? There's always some excuse. There was a kick in the second, no pressure and he kicked it like the unco kid at school who gets a game because everyone feels sorry for him. There is something physically wrong with him.

did you miss the 3 or 4 times a team mate of his (dusty in particular) gave him shocking handpasses to his boot laces that he scooped up, dodged a couple of would be tacklers, and hit a perfect attacking handpass to get us out of trouble?

he definitely looked cooked in those sequences :rolleyes:

Yeah hands look very good and in traffic usually finds a target. Fix up his kicking which will come when he gets some run in his legs.
