Pretty much know what he is at this stage but deserves to play this week. We've got no one else.
That is almost verbatim what Brad said when he shook Jed's hand at training and congratulated him on getting a game.

Hes quick enough, hard at it but cant get it and when he does he butchers it. Make him a tagger
I like this idea.

Despite his obvious flaws, his tenacity is excellent. Could also help him learn how to find the footy.

Maybe his tank could be the problem with that option.

Maybe make him like Melbourne's Neville Jetta? Let him train with the defence during preseason and he might be a better back up for Marley Williams than playing Clarke in defence.

Sounds like a good idea to me. He hasn't made it with Hawks or us as small fwd/pinch hitting mid, don't think his skills are up to it.

Might as well change it up then, nothing to lose for us or Jed.

Yep said the same in the wagner thread. Move both to back pocket and give them an entire pre-season working with the defense. It allows LMac and atley to stay up the ground and hopefully JMac can move to a wing where he is better suited.

Is aggressive and hard at it like Marley. Quick and decent enough disposal. Should be persisted with. Jetta was done as a forward and the move rejuvenated his career. Hopefully the same can happen with Jed.

Hmmm poor old Jed

Surely this kid has got the skills and enough attributes to justify our selection.

What I see when poor old Jed is out in the royal blue and white is a kid bereft of belief and confidence in himself. He looks shell shocked. You can see it in his eyes.

Gotta admit he does things on the footy field and you think wow nekminnit
face palm one self.

Hasn't developed at all, If there's a candidate for a sports psychologist it's our Jed. Jed's preseason should be spent on a psychologist couch and not on the ground.

Would like to see him turn it around for his sake and our sake. Not sure he hits the mental toughness though.

I really like the idea of trying him in defence.
That's very bad idea. His problem is mental.
I'm sure He has more skill and accuracy than Turner.
Biggest different between Jed and Turner is guts and confidence.

Jed doesn't try 100% and give up easily.
He just run among crowd and pretend playing footy. He doesn't wanna make mistake. He is scared of beeing under pressure.
Harvey needs to train him mentally.
Once he gets strong mental, will be good player.

I still think he is part time midfielder and part time small forward.

Agree he might have confidence issues due to form. Could not disagree more that he "doesn't try 100% and gives up easily".
That's absolutely wrong and insulting

I just want to see way more intensity from him. Even in the VFL he looks behind the pace of the game a lot. I'd love to see him hit a pack like Higgo does at full pace and come out the other side with ball in hand to make a composed decision.

I'm pretty worried about him at this stage. Should have easily locked in a spot in the 22 this year

Looks to be too worried about getting his tackle count up. Want to see Jed get a free leash and hunt the footy & run + spread

I actually think his (defensive) intensity is good.

It's his skill level and lack of offensive footy smarts which are the issue IMO.

This is why I agree with the idea that he'd be perfect as a lockdown back pocket.

Completely disagree with the poster above about his skill level. Skills are more then adequate.

His body & tank are the only issue

We are sitting 16th with 7/8 of our best 22 out and Rookies have gone past him in a rebuild year, it's as simple as that and I'm afraid he doesn't have what it takes imo.
Edit. I've backed him for a long time through his injuries and believed he would turn it around but i just don't see it anymore.
