Ha. Rubbish.

Anderson cost us 15.

Bastinac cost lions 2 second rounders (helped from Anderson picks in our favour) and himself.

That's why we got 17 back.

The end.
You don't actually know what the trade was, do you?

Even if you don't want to acknowledge related trades, the deal wasn't straight 15 for Anderson. So, you're wrong on the specific facts level at least.

Plus the trades were related, whether you choose to believe that or not. But again, even if you choose not to believe it, what you keep asserting is factually incorrect.

Why did you edit out the bit about you being so good at interpreting basic facts due to your line of work, I wonder?

It was Jed, 38 and 40 for 15 and 55.

So the fact is that Jed alone did not cost us 15. It's just not true.

If you want to say that Jed cost us 15 then you also have to say that pick 55 cost hawthorn picks 38 and 40 which is just complete ******* nonsense.

F*** there is some meaningless splitting of hairs in this thread.

Kids under done. Had ??? On his body prior to this year and we've played him of f*** all preparation and no VFL form.

Like many needs this year to just end, get clear air and go again.

If you are inclined to judge him I'd suggest do so after next year.

Because it's total bullshit that's why KC.

I've tried to understand every (stupid) analogy presented to me and I still find we have pick 17 - not pick 15? What am I missing that we still have pick 15 somehow? Apparently though we still have pick 15 as Anderson but didn't "cost" us that? WTF? But yep bring on the beer analogies which are irrelevant....

Until someone shows me that we do still have pick 15 I will refuse to accept Anderson didn't cost us number 15 regardless of "use or cost", or any other Politician type spin about what we received in return didn't mean the original event didn't happen.....all because of later events we've managed to use picks from Anderson trade we made ground back by giving up a (quality) player in Bastinac and swapped picks to get a different first round pick in 17.

To say Anderson didn't "cost" us pick 15 is just a plain lie, regardless of what else we received in later deals.

Lots of posters here must use Ashley Madison :thumbsu:
IIRC Jed cost us equiv pick 41 which imo is the value the trade should be assessed at regardless of the individual picks involved.

We still have pick 15?

Basic fact we don't :thumbsu:
So you must accept then that Hawthorn traded 38 and 40 to get pick 55 as you seem to think that the different parts of that trade have to be looked at in isolation.

In that case, for Hawthorn's sake, I hope whoever sanctioned that trade is out of his job.

I have read a lot of shit that Anderson is underdone. He looks as ordinary now as he did preseason. Anyways how many weeks will it take for him to look at least half reasonable? He would want to pull his finger out. Give us something Jed! :stern look

I think with him like with many we've made things overly complicated.

He is Jacobs mrkii, hopefully we simplify it quicker.

Well Pick 15 ended up being Daniel Rioli. Reckon Jed has a higher ceiling due to his toughness. FYI he's strung together nearly 10 games together for the first time in his career. He'll come good.
No pick 12 slid due to the Academy bullshit and became pick 15.

Pick 15 slid and became pick 19 and was Ryan Burton.

Had we kept 15 we'd never have had access to Rioli.

There are some major disconnects over how last year's draft worked with the Academy picks and the points system. What's more is people are splitting hairs over f*** all.

Sure we let 15 (which became 19) go to Hawthorn, we did however get in 17 (21) which was due in part to the other picks we collected from Hawthorn.

My question is what the f*** does any of that matter?

If we had of had pick 15 we still would have taken McKay. So it's a moot
Point.

I reckon he will also, but I don't think it wil be as a fwd. Think he might be too untidy to do enough damage there, hopefully he can bring the aggression to the midfield when he gets his fitness up :thumbsu:

I think both clubs would be happy with the outcome. I reckon if anyone has lost through the trades made it is the Lions.

But i'm not discussing the trade anymore as our boards version of the KKK ^ are clearly up and about :thumbsu:

Need to persist. The kid is 22 and has had limited time due to injuries. His pressure and intent is evident at times but also suffers from poor skill execution due to a lack of confidence. Saying that, he needed to go back to VFL to find his confidence by dominating lesser competition. We could easily have another Robbie Tarrant on our hands that was much maligned during his early career but once he got over his injury curse and played a full season, we have the product we have today. I'd like Jed to have that same opportunity with hopefully a solid preseason and some time in the VFL.
Edit: Not saying he could turn out as good as Taz, but we persisted and it paid off.
