you dont rate clarke? we got him with the pick that came back from the lions and we also got back into the first round and scored Mckay.
Assuming you (not you, a theoretical third person) can accept that getting back into the first round via Bastinac was always the grand plan and you can look at the trade week as a whole, it comes down to Burton vs McKay, which we won't know for at least another 2-3 years. Burton vs Wood also comes into the picture, because if Wood realises his upside then losing out on Burton hurts less.

14 disposals, 6 tackles and a behind in conditions he should have thrived in.

Really, who should be ahead of him for the chop based on output? Taylor (1st year kid)?

Fordham has shown more.

I'd almost have Jed at the head of the queue.

We probably still would have drafted McKay if we'd kept 15 so who the Hawks drafted isn't overly relevant.
I ran with this a few times based on the fact Burton had his injury history and we might have been conservative around that, but someone (I forget who) with an inner scrote source said we were very keen. I think we're still happy with McKay so far.

nice summary, anyway this has been done to death i suppose, at least enough people know it wasnt anything like a straight player for pick trade.

Pretty much the same player as Cruize Garlett at this stage.
That's unfair to Cruize Garlett to be honest.

I didn't mind Cruize, knew how to win the ball and didn't waste it. It was only his endurance and presumably his worrkate that held him back. He wasn't the most damaging player, but he'd still be playing for us if he was capable of running out a full game.

And in the end wasn't it Cruize that left us to play WAFL?
Yeah, I guess Jed is doing what Cruize did at AFL level in the VFL at the moment. Either way it seems like both are undersized depth mids. Jeds skills don't scream forward pocket to me now.

Do we still see him as someone who will provide us with this outside run?

"North is confident that Anderson can provide the outside run it has been targeting this trade period." - afl.com.au
I have rarely seen any offensive output from the bloke.

He just seems to chase and deliver pressure acts, which are honorable contributions, but if there's nothing coming offensively, then it's not really list worthy.

I hope he strolls out for Werribee this week and thinks, **** it, I am going to kick 5 goals today and to hell with the structures. I must get noticed.

Yeah, we had a contract on the table and he didn't want it.

I would be thrilled if Jed was putting up Garlett-esque numbers in the VFL. Cruize was averaging over 30 touches a game for North Ballarat, then in his last season with us he averaged over 20 disposals and goal in games where he wasn't subbed on or off.
