Whilst I knew it was possibility, we all hoped it would not come.

300 game and 3 time Premiership player, 07 Brownlow Medalist, 2011 Norm Smith Medalist and basically hero to the footballing world, Jimmy Bartel has announced his retirement from footy.

Simple the best Jimmeh... simply the best. And to your future.

Enjoyed watching you play, and I even made the call you'd win the Brownlow in 2007 about 5 rounds into the season! What a champion. Let's hope you have many male babies for father son recruits. Make sure they are Cats fans too... Not Richmond one's like you were in your youth.
