Mitchell. Hodge. Hawthorn
Hardly comparable. Top team trying to refresh the list and stay relevant. They had a couple of targets in Mitchell and JOM. They had made their run and if it backfired it wouldn’t have been a big deal.
Vs bottom team getting rid of one of its best without having achieved anything. If it backfires it could destroy culture and set us back another 5-10 years.

Hope he stays. Remember his Dad lamenting the lack of protection he got as a youngster. How banged up he is today, is in part, a result of Carton’s past ineptitude. I’d like to see him stay on and see some blue skies, play a bit more on the outside and forward.

Have a dignified handover of the leadership reins to Doc and Cripps, and enjoy watching the youngsters grow with the rest of us.

Say Murphy got an offer from another club at 2x $350k and he wanted to take that offer in chase of a flag, Would Carlton stand in his way and want to hold on or would they wish him the best and wave him goodbye ?

Chances are its possible but would that be suitable for the blues

Pretty sure that'd go down like a house on fire.

I'd imagine the club would do all they possibly could to keep Murphy at the club, he is very much needed perhaps more now then ever. If no agreement could be reached, i have faith the club will shake hands, thank him for his service and wish him well in his future.

I think most fans want Murphy to stay, but will understand if he wants to leave the club in pursuit of a premiership.

I haven't exactly been the biggest Murphy fan in recent years, but i do want him to stay, I'd even be perfectly fine with him resuming captaincy for the last time next year.

If he decides to leave, i will be upset, but i wont hate the guy and I'd be rooting for whatever team he goes to, to win the premiership, just as long as its not Essendon or Collingwood or Richmond :p

Getting rid of Murphy will not destroy our culture. It may even have the opposite effect

'If it backfires', if.
All I'm saying is that it's not comparable to the situation with Hawks offloading Mitchell, Lewis and Hodge. There's more risk for us.
I honestly don't really have an opinion either way on whether he should stay or go.

murph leaving or staying rates around 30 on the list of things I'm interested in at the club atm.............
Interested to see your first 29 then...dot points would be fine.
