Re: 3. Marc Murphy - kmasn

Been an age since this one's been updated...how good has Murph been this season? Absolutely loving being of the leash, and is dominating accordingly. His game against the Lions has to be one of his best for the club, and his footskills have improved significantly. :thumbsu:

Should have been in the big V ahead of Pendles based on form this season. Pendles had 2 good games this year and was picked on the back of last years form.

Murph is doing what we expected he would. Nice to see those shots on goal sailing through now...........I can see a bumped thread in that somewhere.;)

Re: 3. Marc Murphy - kmasn

Murphy really should've been picked of the Big V, but unfortunatly wasnt. he is one of the BOG week in week out, which is a great thing for a young guy in the team. I think he's looking good so far for B&F this year :D

Re: 3. Marc Murphy - kmasn

Hey guys, I've got a quick question about Marc. Was in an argument with a mate and he says Marc is contracted till 2013. I thought that was ridiculous. What's his contract status atm? Cheers fellas

Re: 3. Marc Murphy - kmasn

His contract is finished this year? Quite sure he will re-sign.
I love Murph - biggest mancrush in the world

Re: 3. Marc Murphy - kmasn

from a outside observer's point of view he needs to work on his kicking skills big time . he tends to be too cute with it sometimes and has a tendency not to follow through

A couple of years ago - all I wished for from the Blues was to defeat Melbourne for the year (had an annoying Demon mate). Seems to me that beating Carlton was your wish this year Hulld. Last time I looked there was a Bumber board - why don't you go back there as we like to keep our Buddy board factual

Re: 3. Marc Murphy - kmasn

He has had a great year but I was not thrilled with his game last week. With Judd out the stage is set for Murph to show he IS the A-grader Parko keeps saying he isn't yet

Re: 3. Marc Murphy - kmasn

good news for mark i have just found out that there is 1 player in the afl who turns the ball over more than him and that is chris knights

well he doesnt actually turn the ball over more but only because he gets the ball less than mark but u know what i mean

Re: 3. Marc Murphy - kmasn

Need to improve his disposal ... Gibbs has overtaken him when it comes to quality disposal.

Re: 3. Marc Murphy - kmasn

that makes 2 of us. wasted it last night on the few occasions he had it. although in saying that mcqualter is an awesome player...

Re: 3. Marc Murphy - kmasn

It could just be me, but it seems Murph had added a bit of pace to his first few steps or so this year (?).

It's most noticeable when he burst away like lightning from a couple of packs last night, and I know the Roos aren't exactly quick, but it's not the first time I've noticed it this year.

He's not the quickest mid going around, but it's great he has a bit of a burst in him.... not to mention brilliant brakes to pull up from it :p

Also great recovery.

Should get in the AA quad of 40.

Murphy will play his hundredth game this time next year.

Incredibly consistent considering we were so poor in his first and second years with no leadership on and off the field.

I did a double take when I realised Smurf is just 14 games behind Jobe Watson (91 games) who is two years older and was picked in the 2002 draft. Out and out gun who has missed just nine games due to a season ending injury in 2006.

Murphy hasn't missed a game since due to injury or suspension. :thumbsu:

Murphy could win his first best B & F this year.

A shame Murphy can't kick and isn't as good as Dayne Beams.

"I reckon it will be a good test for us. We are all looking forward it," he said.

"With Fev going up there and Juddy missing out on the first three games we are looking forward to showing what we have got and showing it's not just a one-man side and picking up the slack," he said.

"We have nothing to lose going up there and having a crack at them, so it should be great."

"We all need to step up. Everyone is getting a little bit older with another year gone by, and everyone is maturing into their bodies."

"It's a cop-out now saying we are young. Just like most other sides in the AFL now, we are young. It's that kind of business. We are not going to make any excuses," Murphy said. "Barring injuries and with a bit of luck you never know how far we can go."
