Well i look forward to keeping everyone informed on Murphs progress this year ( As his Buddy poster for 2010 ) as he firmly establishes himself as one of the Elite midfielders of the competition. I have high hopes for Murph this year and i think he will take out our B&F and once again kick over 30 goals and the lead the AFL as the best Pure Midfield Goal kicker in the game. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Thanks to The General for providing this link and Info in Murphs and Waites thread on our main board. I thought it would be relevant to post here in Murphs dedicated thread.

Murphy to be eased into season

Murphy, who is already back running on a treadmill, said the required surgery was a success and that he should be clear to play against Richmond, albeit in a slightly different role than he's used to.

"At the start of the season, at least, I think I'll be used in more short, sharp bursts and once my fitness is back around the mark I'm sure it will be back to normal," Murphy told afl.com.au.

Murphy is aiming to see limited action as early as the third week of the NAB Cup competition and has kept a positive mindset despite his first major interruption to a pre-season campaign.

Great news this week with the return of Murphy for the West Coast NAB Challenge game. Hopefully Murph gets through unscathed and keeps the progression for Rd 1 on track. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

In further good news for Carlton fans, important onballer Marc Murphy will also resume after hip surgery interrupted his pre-season campaign in January.

Murphy, 22, had some partially torn ligaments repaired after reporting discomfort while running prior to Christmas that did not ease with rest.

His return is right on schedule with the midfielder confident a late start to pre-season games wouldn't be an issue when he spoke to afl.com.au in February.

News on Murphs great game last night against the Lions. Marc was close to BOG for us with 34 disposals and was absolutely brilliant in every facet. If Murph keeps this form up for the year i see another Top 10 Brownlow finish and a top 2 B&F place. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

It's scary that Murphy had surgery in late January and no real pre-season, yet he can star and not run out of gas.

Elite.

Here Here!! Murph is a ****ing Gun!!!! :D

Game news for Murph following the disastrous loss at the hands of Essendon. Had a bad night by Marc's lofty standards in a game where we failed to have any clear winners all over the ground. :(

Allthough some stats were below recent weeks Murph was very damaging with every possesion and 2 goals were very helpful. Big game next week against the Pies and a victory is just what the doctor ordered!! :thumbsu:

Been eavesdropping in any cubicles lately? :D

Go Murph :thumbsu:

Will fade a little more than most with his limited pre-season, but he's still doing very well. Absolute gun.

Excellent game again and Marc was easily in our best 5 players on the field. Good to see the injury that had Marc miss most of the pre season seems to be fully overcome and there are no signs of Murph slowing down.

Murph was below standards against the Saints after being heavily tagged all night. While it wasnt a poor performance by any means but it was an average game by Murphs lofty standards and look for a better outing next week against Port. I will be unable to post after the Port game as i am heading away fishing to Eden tomorrow morning for a little over a week and will have to rely on media reports etc as to how Murph goes as i highly doubt i will see the game.

I cant really give a run down on how Murph played as i was away and missed this game and still have not seen a replay. Another solid 20+ disposals though is good.

I was at this game and thought he did very well. Was tagged hard by Kane Cornes for the game and was kept quiet for the first half and first part of the 3rd quarter. Early in the game he could have scored the goal of the century with running bounces from inside Port 50 to our 50 only to pass it to a teamate  lol. Work very hard to get back into the game in the second half and provided decent run. His pin point pass to our goal square last in the 3rd was unfortunately dropped by Kreuzer.
