Hird by a mile at Essendon, then probably the Johnsons.

Dave - you wouldnt include wanganeen at Port? When he was at Essendon he did some amazing stuff in relation to gutz. Its a shame he has been hampered with injuries of late.

My picks for freo..

Justin Longmuir
Sean McManus
Dale Kickett

I noticed someone picked Pickett for North. Unless he has changed lately I would not have picked him as being that courageous. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of time for him as a player, but courageous is not really what I would call him.

I don't know about daylight, but you see those players constantly get hit HARD, but they get straight back up. All those boys mentioned are as tough as nails. They'll look injured for 5 mins, then before you know it, they are back doing all the hard stuff.

They have no fear whatsoever. That's what i really like about our side at the moment. Hardwick is by far my favourite player!

J.Johnson's hip & shoulder on Blakey in the Ansett Cup final last year is one of the best "legal" bumps you will see. Split him right down the middle!

Looks like he left it (gutz) behind. Since he's moved to Port he's frequently laid crude, late, high hits, and that to me is anything but courageous.

Sour grapes comment from someone who doesn't see many of Wangas games any more. Since he's relinquished the captaincy Gav doesn't feel the need to 'fly the flag' that way any more - he can now concentrate on doing what he does best, ie displaying breathtaking courage and skill.

Not far behind Gav in the courage stakes at Port:

Matthew Primus
Michael Wilson
