A lot of talk about how he will help out with our midfield rotations, but does anyone else think we might also try and isolate him closer to goal? He is very good one on one, though it would be pretty difficult to orchestrate the space required for it to work. Might be something for 2015 if he can't keep up in the midfield.

We seem to have a lot of guys in the forward half who can do midfield minutes or are expected to next year so I doubt he'll have to spend a great deal of time there if it isn't going to be good for his hamstrings or team balance.

None of the above.

Geelong are just a great club, and will always look after their players. We will give them away if it helps them get to a new club. We do it all the time.

You can thank Geelong, not EFC. :)

Look after them with insulting contracts?

He would be wasted if he didn't get much midfield time. One of the issues we've had over the past few years in that we lack enough midfield rotations. Last season we had the likes of Kommer, Merrett and Davey who couldn't give the other midfielders a rest. Chapman can spent a five or ten minute burst through the middle, which can help out the likes of Jobe, Goddard and Heppell. In an ideal situation it might help us avoid the late season fade outs.

I don't mean reduce his midfield time, at least next year, but to occasionally use him one out in the square instead of at half forward when not in the middle.

Love Geelong fans claiming they helped him get where he wanted. His initial preference was the Cattery, his second was us and he was coming as a delisted FA.

Trade is a token gesture, nothing more or less.

Another thing I don't understand is the whole 'good on geelong for trading him to his preferred destination'

he was always going to get there, it was a good will gesture from us to give them a pick
