What are the 3 or more things you are going to want our new coach to implement in the off season?
For this exercise we should assume that list management and drafting will be left to SOS and co. On the track, game day, player management what changes do you want to see..

Not in any order of importance:

An ultra competitive mindset. This means never believing we are out of a game, done with hard running both ways, fanatical tackling and generally will not take anymore s**t on field.

A plan a, b and c for good measure. I want to see some tactical nouse.

May be controversial, but one of the first things should be pocking a new captain.
And new faces in the leadership group (looking at you Sammy and Paddy).

There are probably other things i'll think of later but that's a start.

1. Play on as much as possible.

2. Team running patterns and overlap to create free players.

3. Increase handball use towards the centre of the ground.

Yes. Make football winnable but keep the joy in it. If you enjoy what you do, it creates passion and it creates camaraderie within the playing group.

Fast ball movement with a focus on improving our handballing

Two-way running ... non-negotiable

Develop leadership and empower a core of 12-15 guys to take responsibility and impact games

Win the 2015 Grand Final. Nothing more, nothing less.

Seriously the club and playing group is at such an low ebb right now, you can list so many items on the agenda for Barkers ..

No 1 MAKE WINDY HAPPY (which probably consistutes mission impossible :D)

No 2 Coach/Instruct the players to their individual strengths and talents, then somehow see if you can mesh it into a wonderful coherent team collective unit (bit like mixing ham and pineapple together to make a pizza topping, but make sure it doesn't end up like Vegemite Chocolate (YUCK)

Let the players back themselves, use the corridor more often and try limit the cringe worthy zig zag, sideways, short kick backwards and handball to teammates under pressure, which has been our forte all this season.

Finally, and I can't stress this enough

HAIRCUTS FOR GIBBA AND TENZEL ..
If you want to be a hipster, join a band like Blink182, those Samurai Bun haircuts give the impression that players don't take footy seriously, and I know that isn't the case, but gah, it just really annoys me.

1. Play for the jumper

2. Run and overlap all day. Be on the move all the time to create space or options

3. Straight down the middle at every opportunity

1. FFS, one of you please stand away from the pack to receive a handball and clear!

2. FFS, one of you please stand away from the pack to receive a handball and clear!

3. FFS, one of you please stand away from the pack to receive a handball and clear!

Someone who can withstand pressure because there will be bucket loads of pressure and negative media coming their way.

Someone who can have a good working relationship with SOS, McKay etc

Someone with a bit of **** in them and isn't afraid to go and tell the board to get ****ed if they start messing in his business and someone who isn't going to take bullshit from players.

Someone with a realistic view. No coaches coming in with a belief of getting success with this group. Someone committed to the rebuild.

Above all a coach who is an excellent judge of players and knows who to offload and who to keep very early. Though with our new structure SOS will probably play a big role here.

Someone who really has the nous in regards to rebuilding and cleaning out.

Someone who has a good understanding of what it takes to win a premiership and sets really high standards.

Someone willing to work their absolute arse off and put an incredible amount of time into the job.

Creating a game style that holds up to finals and does not facilitate second rate footballers. Couldn't give a rats arse about winning games at the moment until we start creating a team that has the talent to go places. Not overly fussed on game plans as it doesn't really matter, if you have the players you will win and they will create their own style naturally.

Want a group of people at the club who are all pulling in the one direction, all working on the same rebuilding strategy and all working well together. Can't have individuals wanting to build the team a different way or wanting to try and buy success etc.

A coach who the board will get behind fully, show faith and patience in and give their full support too and not hold a gun to their head would be nice for a change. Let them get on with the job unhindered.
