Thought he played pretty well for late-inclusion debutant.

Got beat in the air a couple of times (that hold on McCarthy was textbook inexperience induced panic) but once the ball hit the ground he was mopping up very well i reckon.

Definitely one for the future. Needs a couple of good feeds though.

I was excited to see him play but was worried he'd be out of his depth. He wasn't. Very impressive debut.

Also liked how we used him as a target for kick outs a couple times as that's one area we really struggle in without JD.

I think Hurley had a better first game but he looks good.
Hurley was out-marking Warren Tredrea in his first game! It was obvious straight away that he was a pretty special player. I can't remember a key defender coming in and playing a better game first up although Francis had a ripping first game too I think.

Ripper debut.

Got beaten in the air a couple of times but his skills looked really good for a first gamer and he battled hard

Intensity difference between VFL and AFL is substantial - first impression was that he can handle it. Has the desire and physical ability to compete.

Needs muscle and got lost a couple of times but a promising debut.
