Peter Gordon gave ASADA a fair old whack on 774 this morning. After doing extensive research in the fields of genetics and genomics over the last 5 years he was shocked that they would make such claims without even contacting any experts in the field to ask about the risks involved. He knows none were consulted as these are people he has been working very closely with due to his work. Said that all the comments did was strike fear into Paddy and hsi family without any professional advice to back it up.
The club needs to get to Paddy ASAP regarding this and let him know.

.... and it means that its also a chance he stays by choice or that a trade can't be found.

I just hope he unleases on Saturday night. Not the best preparation, but hopefully we are more worried about this than he is.

I should add before this gets taken out of hand. I am most certainly not saying Peter Gordon is an expert in the field of genomics. I am fully aware he is a class action litigation lawyer. For the last 5 years he has been working very closely with geneticists regarding the effects of thalidomide, which mainly revolve around birth defects.

IF...the Bombers wanted us to be convinced there was, as they're telling everyone privately, "nothing" in the Paddy Ryder story...
THEN...they would have plonked him in front of one of their Bomber TV cameras and had him say that. They didn't.

Raises a good point, it's not like there's anything else important going on this week.

Yeah and it's not like Ryder is a shy, public speaking-shunning guy.

..anyway the Essendon media release confirmed there were issues, it didnt deny it. They said they had no intention of trading and have always intended to sit down post season with paddy and/or family to thrash it out. No running or hiding or denial.
thing is, he's contracted for another two years.

We could just say, 'paddy, we're not comfortable with making a move this year, stick fat till the end of next year, we'll sort out the ASADA stuff and re-assess in 12 months'

Found his use of the word 'plonked' quite funny.

Were we supposed to barge into his bedroom with a forklift and dump him straight into a press conference or something?

Yep. And Jess, how'd you like a "job" in marketing?
