Since joining Essendon from St Kilda at 2012's end as a Restricted Free Agent, BJ has been a voice of reason and has cut the pure filth that proliferated the past 4 years to smithereens.

He's also been a model of consistency (finger pointing aside) and just one of the most consistent players out there.

Hindsight perfectly states that he was the ideal No. 1 draft pick in 2002.

The 300th game will be just a sweet milestone to savour.

for all the haters, i love this guy and he's been a true servant of the club.
More than most, i'd like to see us win a flag for him. Has had some terrible luck in his choice of club when pursuing free agency. But I'm glad he chose us.
Having a ripper season too!

Been written off a few times even throughout this season but just keeps on producing.

One of the more adaptable players I've seen and can have an impact wherever he is playing.

Has been immense for us. Walked into the shitstorm, won the B&F in his first season at a new club. Completely bought in despite the situation and his leadership has been irreplaceable.

EFC through and through, forget the Saints!

Excellent club man, always backing his teammates and the Bombers in general.

From a scrawny 17 year old to a 32 year old established veteran it's been a great joy to watch his rise.

I remember reading every day in 2002 the possibility of Goddard going No. 1 and Wells going No. 2.

There was a shitload of coverage on him to the point of every draft chat having his name mentioned a few times per piece.

Then. (With Jared Brennan and Daniel Wells.)

Now.

Who here remembers his first screamer vs Footscray in I think his 2nd game?

Love BJ's contribution to our club. Has shown real passion for both of his clubs. Worth remembering that he did an ACL early in his career too only to come back like he hadn't missed a beat.

Would now have to be considered in the best 22 Bombers I have seen. Some finals success would probably be all he needs for that.

Easily top 5, having his best season for Essendon thus far. I would go as far as to say he is leading the B&F at this point in time.

Has been enormous for us during such a tough period. Would not have blamed him if he wanted out after what went on but he stuck fat and defended us through the tough times.

Based on the quality of the 100 games he's played to date he's probably in the top 6 or 7 players we've had stretching back to 2000.

If he plays another two years he'd easily be top 5.

It's a shame that we haven't been a better side. He's a clutch player, the kind of player you want for a finals campaign.
