I realise we're "extracting the urine" in this thread but...

If he's played, at least we would have had a forward target to kick too (not that they would have kicked it to him properly, or that he'd mark it!) then that would have allowed the crumbers (ie. Thomas, Garlett, would also put CJ and LT in this category) to actually pick up the crumbs, rather than trying to be our marking, leading forwards!!!

Using a forward target/crumbers actually requires the ball getting past half forward.

Try again.

Put in Wundke Wundke and Wundke ....We lost our usual FF before the game...The conditions are wet and freezing...Just like at Ballarat....You have an emergency that can lead, mark and kick straight and is used to the ground....So then they bring in Harris as a replacement ???....Go figure

What I love best about Haile is how he always marks and gives off the quick hands to a running player, you never see him doing a Queen Maryesque u-turn and let the opposition push back and force him into a nothing kick.

Who's the other Thomas also Garlett was playing midfield. Wasn't Aaron Edwards supposed to offer these things?

What is his value in the team?

Aaron Edwards will bring more teenage girls to our games.

Having said that, with Hale's "non-surgical treatment", anything is possible.

Forget next year Chad, if 3 of Boomer, Wells, Anthony and JWS play the majority of the remaning games, he will kick over 40 this year.
Your faith in David is admirable, but at times it seems the problem is far more to do with him being bothered to compete rather than the shitfulness of the delivery IMO.

Don't get me wrong - getting those players back would help, as with a bit of luck the ball might fall into his hands a few more times. But is that enough to warrant an automatic selection in the side that is going somewhere?

I will say this...about the only time we have looked like to have a functioning forward line this year has been when Hale has played well.
Ok, that hasn't been as often as we'd like, but there's not many others ripping it up, even when our midfield gets it in there.

So was Hale replaced for an injury or for match-ups due to the conditions?
I'm a fan of his & also have him in my super coach. Just curious if injured is it long term, couldn't see his name on the injury list.

Geez Hale is really out of sorts this season, ever since that concussion he's been out of it. It's time for him to find some form in the two's and time for us to have a look at Wundke or Josh Smith.
Jones did enough to keep his spot, hopefully a few goals under his belt gives him some confidence, and with Warren going down Jones stays.
I was really impressed with Harris and Swallow today, as well as Anthony and Grima. Garlett looks promising, I think he needs a bit more experience at the level and he should turn into a good player.
Geez, and to think we could get Wells, Campbell, LT, Wright and Jesse back soon. Got a good team building!

For christ sake give him a break every freaking game no matter what the hell he does, what position he plays he gets the shit bagged out of him. Even when he kicks 5 ****ing goals. I agree he hasnt had a great season but he got knocked out badly so he is most like unconciously worried about it happening again, try being a true supporter and get behind your team and by that i mean all of the players insteady of bitching and bagging them!!!

In his presser, Crocks said he saw signs of the David of old - or words to that effect. I only hope he keeps looking for them in the twos. He had a fairly open forward line to work with today as well. Harris is a very good opponent though.
