drop Hale or give him a run solely in the ruck to get some form and confidence back.
goldstein is a better ruckman now than hale,he cant handle the job,he has had numerous chances, petrie is a better ruckman too,if hale aint cuttinit as a forward its time to move him on

Why can't anyone else see that the disposal into our forward line is shit!

How is it Hale's, Jones's, Edwards, Thomas's problem if the ball keeps being kicked no where near them?

May as well drop the whole forward line!

never seen hale creating space, blocking, chasing, tackling, any of the 1%'s so if he is not taking marks and kicking goals what value is he to the team ???

Wundke should be played at FF. I can picture Bolton and RobertsT running off Haley and dominating next week:thumbsdown:
Bring him back when his confidence grows. Weve been waiting 3 months for him to click. Give another kid a go
Have you seen Wundke run around in the VFL? He is no Carl Lewis.

UPDATE: Who knows? And to be perfectly honest, who cares? Time he was dropped & either Goldstein or Josh Smith given a crack. 2 good games out of 12 doesn't cut the mustard for me. Zebs, your thoughts?
C'mon mate. 2 good games out of 12 means that he is just taking his time cause he is a big man. He'll come good. Don't yah worry about that.:thumbsu:

have a look at our forward line....

crumbers - matty / Lt
Half forwards - Ben / Azza / CJ
CHF - Drew

what I see are players that fit their roles.......the only who doesnt is Hale...he isnt a natural FF....whilst you might hate Fev or Bazza what they do is lead and lead and lead....they keep presenting...when the dont get the pill they hit packs hard and create opportunities for their crumbers..

Hale doesnt impose himself enough for a 200cm player...he gets pushed aside too easily and goes to ground too much....he isnt a FF.....we have 2 guys in the magoos who deserve a chance...Josh and Wundke....Crock needs to think long term and gives these boys a chance before a team that needs a big forward (doggies / pies) come knocking...

Goldy's form on the weekend may put him out. Finals are gone now, so it might be the right move for Hale to get confidence back in the VFL.

I am with Crock, with the midfielders we have brought in and a continued increase in inside 50s, the real Hale could be just around the corner. Opposition teams obviously still know his capabilities as they continue to put their best defender on him and he is still our leading goal kicker this year

Smith's form over the past couple of weeks hasn't been enough to demand a spot it seems(especially given his senior form so far), Wundke and Edwards are just not suitable replacements, so Goldy is the only other and he has dominated at the right time.

The `real Hale'? Is that the one with or without hair?

I'm telling ya now, if Goldy comes in, he better give me something around the ground - not just 14 hitouts, 2 marks & 8 disposals. Because if that happens, i will cancel my chop extension.

Well this is the thing. Playing Drew as our second ruck is just not a good move. Not for Drew's development or for our chances of winning.

And Hamish doesn't have the motor to ruck massive minutes. He works hard both ways Hamish, and he gets tired.

As bad as Hale has been, most second rucks have minimal influence. Ours is capable of kicking a bag and gets the best defender every time he goes forward.

I thought Hale looked his best when he did that short stint rucking. Actually got some good taps down to Harro and Simmo before going forward again.

I'm sick to death of hearing that excuse for Hale. The disposal into the forward line on the weekend was not that bad. Anthony, Harvey and a few otheres provided him with enough chances to make an impact. One the weekend he was beaten one out by Brian Lake on 6 seperate occasions. It's not just about the disposal into the forward line, its his 2nd efforts 1%ers and all of the team stuff that he fails to do. He was beaten comprehensively on the weekend, out marked, out played and he simply didn't provide enough contests for our small forwards.

How many times on the weekend did you see him lay a tackle? or even apply a small amount of pressure? Actually how many times has he done that over the past 6 weeks?

Very little if at all.

Wake up and smell the roses, Hale is not a FF. Opposition teams have worked him out and he doesn't provide enough contests or enough around the ground.

I'd be bringing Josh Smith in for a crack out of the square. Lets see what he's got. We have nothing to loose. I can gaurantee he will provide more of a contest than Hale and he will chase, tackle and break a pack open here and there.

Re: David hale

He should be bundled up in a nice ribbon and exchanged to the new gold coast team for one of their valuable first round picks.
I have been a big wrap for him in the past but I don't think that he is in our best team on what he has shown this year, time to say thanks for the contribution and move on.
Hate to break it to you mate but generally a bloke who is not in the best 22 of the 13th placed side in the ladder is unlikely to command too many first round draft picks.

my wife is faster than goldie. just give wundeke or smith a go , leave thomas out ,we look good with kruze , harris was solid, jones had a redhot go, if crock wants to succeed ,drop out of form players.
Corey Jones is a dick id rather watch john howard run around out their at least Hale is a team player

You, are a tool.

You obviously have some obsession/relation to David Hale. You don't post unless it involves him, and you defend the undefendable by simply saying 'there were worse out there'. Although four worst on ground votes suggest different.

I like David, and hope to god he turns it around as he can be a real weapon, but for christ sake, we have to reward the youngsters who are chalking up BOGs and kicking bags in the reserves, rather than perservering with someone who is lucky to take one contested mark a game the way he is playing. He doesn't chase, he doesn't block, his kicking skills are deplorable when hitting a target, he simply, has been given too much time, and needs a break to get some sort of form.
