The phone mum and dad routine is getting a bit stale too. Not the same spontaneity and emotional tug as when they first did it a few years ago. Time for some new angles.

His dad mentioned they moved from England 20 years ago. So before he was born but enough for him to be the first generation born in aus

Good signs. A few times he was 1 out or even outnumbered and either won the ball or managed to keep it going until the cavalry arrived. Plenty of more mature players on the list who would have coughed it up in the same situation.

He definitely needs a few years for puberty to finish, but he’s got the guts and seems a fairly smart player. Compare him to Charlie Clarke who was another small slight kid but just didn’t have it.
