CARLTON Football Club is pleased to welcome Alex Fasolo to the Blues, after securing the signature of the unrestricted free agent.

The 26-year-old forward arrives at Ikon Park, having played 101 games across eight seasons at Collingwood.

GM of List Management and Strategy Stephen Silvagni said Fasolo would provide scoring nous to the Club’s emerging forward line.

“We’re delighted to add Alex to our ranks ahead of the 2019 AFL season and believe he’ll add scoring power and valuable experience to our forward line,” Silvagni said.

“A proven goalkicker at AFL level, Alex complements our players in that 23- to 27-year-old age bracket and we think he has a lot to offer alongside Charlie (Curnow) and Harry (McKay), as well as our newest recruit Mitch McGovern.

Fas is another handy addition to our forward line and will directly take Wright’s role as a small forward. Can hopefully be that little spark up front who will lick his lips at the opportunities at ground level in the packs involving the big boys. Good goal sense and can hopefully provide some creativity deep forward. Wants to prove his worth, so let’s just see how hungry he is.

Welcome Fas, smash it for us.

Best of luck to you Fas, welcome aboard!!

His best is sublime so I hope we see it, hasn't cost us any draft picks regardless.

Who was the last guy to make the abominable leap from Pies to Blues, Cameron Wood?

Apparently we were going to offer a three year deal but some at the club had issue with that. Fasolo was informed of the clubs concerns and responded "Give me one year. I'll prove myself".

Love it. Welcome aboard sonny :thumbsu:
Yeh heard that, just wondering if it actually eventuated or not. Would be happy with 3 or 1 year though, I reckon he'll be the next Matty Wright.
