You’re back tracking now though. You claimed he couldn’t make a second effort, but it’s been proven, he actually had three or four efforts in the passage of play.
Is that not good enough?

Is there a team limit on how many efforts your allowed to do?
If so somebody better pull Graham up.

Surely you can’t think a professional organisation that just won the premiership would conduct themselves like that?
Is there any chance that you might consider that you’re actually off the mark on this one?

No .. I'm not off the mark.
Ellis is a plain and ordinary footballer and not in our best 22, even with four or five players out.
He was again mediocre on Thursday night ... and unlike some I didn't have to rush to afl.com.au to check the stats and find out ... I saw it with my eyes.
He's on a par with Lennon and I wasn't wrong on that either.
Four years in and we're making excuses still and being told we can't compare him to any other player ... yet someone in defending him referred to him as a cross between Sam Mitchel and Pendlebury.
**** me!!!!

If it's about quality over quantity why get upset when I mentioned that Miles' disposals don't hurt despite him getting plenty of the ball. We have 4 premiership players out of the side at present, we need to pick someone to fill those spots and we've gone with 3 unproven types to give them opportunity. If they don't step up they'll find themselves back in the VFL soon enough. If they do maintain their spots when the others come back then that can only be a good thing as it means our depth has improved again
Aaahhhhmm bc he lacks in both quality and quantity and if you follow back on those posts you were the one that contradicted yourself. Remember???Or are you just sliding back into your deceptive and lying little tactics . I can go and place all the non edited posts into order for you if you need me to. I’m sorry I need to do this with you bc you’ve been found doing these dirty tactics. You picked up on Miles bc you were using CEllis tackling as some big thing yet Miles out performed him. In the end my gripe with Corey is he’s getting a game over better players and is physically not up to afl standard atm. He should be developed at vfl level . Now stop wasting my time with lies and come back to me when you can conjure up a highlights reel for Corey which improves on Fiora.
Comparing CELlis to Miles shows how football ignorant your are as if CEllis ever achieves anywhere near Miles achievements we’d be all smiling .

That comparison was made in terms of type of player and style of play. Not quality of player. It was made abundantly clear.

Did you see his first half, ran around and didnt get near it....obviously credits in the bank and all that. Im just mentioning when your side is 5 goals down and you hadnt had a touch or a tackle, maybe get amongst it a bit more which he did..... so yes, if your gunna pot corey be fair about it.
Yes and like you said Lambert has points on the board.Ellis should make every post a winner. Was a good opportunity at that moment to show Dimma he's brought the team first ethos.

There’s no need to get personal. The discussion was going well, just debating Corey Ellis himself. You don’t need to revert to going the man to get your point across.

But how many elite dangerous possessions are you expecting him to have each match and more importantly what are you classing as dangerous?

2 have already been mentioned that resulted in goals, that'
Not bad IMO. If everyone averaged 2 goal assists per game we would be laughing.

Agree he needs to maybe find an extra yard of pace to really get himself into more space.
I think you’re over simplifying things as you need to play our best 22 and players up to the standard . So he produced two good moments for about five or so poor ones. Really he’s often jogging to contests , missing tackles and most of been easily dispossessed .all of this is bc he’s not ready at the top level. It’s the whole package and not a simple possession quality contest. People that resort to numbers without seeing other basic required attributes are really out of their league on this one Even Fiora and David Bourke have a highlights reel , but were they any good??

I'm seeing a pattern here - the anti Pestia Club in early 2017 of 5 or 6 members last year that went on and on and on and then on some more, about miles >>>>Prestia have reformed as the anti Corey Club........................................Miles, Lloyd, anyone else >>>> Corey. o_O

Which is why we all log in every weekend and hail that one piece of play where CEllis was good.
And that's what it is ... 'one'.
I look forward to 2022 when we are hailing two bits of good play per week.
You'e moving the goal posts now.

You said your self you would be happy with 1 or 2, we provide examples and still not Happy?

As i said realistically not many players will have any more than 3-4 dangerous possessions a game, so the fact we pointed out 2 is a good thing isn't ?

Remember, he doesn't need to be a Dusty or a cotch.

Look as I’ve told you b4 if you cannot follow a conversation please myob. If you had read his post and the thread it was him that made a personal remark added with lies from old posts. He was doing every trolls dirty tactic by playing the man by muddying the waters. Now go away unless you can genuinely contribute.

This and have been taken out of context with quantity over quality .
I look at the full package in a footballer not just two highlights. Cellis game was underwhelming more bc what he failed to do rather than the two things you’re salivating over. As I’ve said it’s not all about possessions, but what he brings to the game in terms of quality that has hurt factor. Atm he’s hurting us more by playing bc he’s underdeveloped. I’m not writing him off , but I think it’s doing more damage to his confidence by playing him raw.

Like i said be fair about it, Corey set up 2 goals with nice team play... Shai cost us 3 goals when he was flying around like Evel Knieval, twice his man ran off him to set up goals and the other he spoilt a Jack Graham gimme.

We get it, you love Jack Graham, so does everyone, he is 20 now by the way. The comment made was that Ellis isn’t a kid anymore, 21 years old in footy is still a kid.

We can knit pick until Go North! win the flag mate. But really the reality is Ellis when given an opportunity he doesn't take it with both hands. That moment with Grimes shown me why he'll never make it with us.

And hopefully he'll learn from that. How many times does Ellis have to go back to the teacher before it sinks in?

My argument is that you didn’t analyse that passage of play fairly.
I completely agree that Ellis didn’t take his opportunity on Thursday night. I have said that from the start, but when he gets criticised unfairly for certain aspects of his game or certain passages of play, I’ll go into bat for him.

But generally if your still not showing anything after 3 years at the club it's a worrying sign.

Put down your stats sheet for a minute ... when did CEllis lay that bone-jarring tackle we all remember; or genuinely stopped someone dead in their tracks???? No one has ever presented he doesn't tackle, he's just not any damn good at it.
So now he doesn't have to just lay more tackles, they need to be bone jarring game changing tackles for them to be any good.

So to recap, Ellis must have 12-18 damaging possessions and lay 4-6 bone jarring game changing tackles just to be rated as adequate.
