He hasn’t had a injury free run at it

That’s all it is. Continuity. He gets that, confidence in his body will come

He may never get there

He wasn't injured at all this season and was still inconsistent, to the point he ended up being dropped. You see it in games too - he will be involved for a quarter here and a half there, but very rarely the whole thing. And he will be 26 next season, it's not like he's still some raw kid.

If it was purely just needing continuity then he wouldn't be up for trade after a season where has wasn't injured. People just don't want to accept he isn't going to be the player we thought he was going to be in 2016.

Mason is a real tease. I know he has had set backs but most of us expected much more by now. If we can use him in a deal to get someone like Papley - bye. If he stays let's hope he can get his best game on the field.

I reckon give him a go down back if he doesn’t get traded

He reminds me of that point in his career when Taz wasn’t making much headway as a Forward

He has a good leap, will go hard when needed and has a good enough tank, but if he ‘can’t follow instructions well’ he may just need see-ball-get-ball-straight-ahead back end instructions

He has had calf issues on and off all year?

Like with Black, we held him too long and missed a likely first round selection on offer at the time.

He still has some level of currency, mostly because there isn’t a swag of quality talls on the market and he is contracted.

He is basically a Matthew Lloyd style full forward.
In that position he would be a reliable 50 goal plus player.
He is simply played out of position and with good reason as we have Brown.

Why would we have traded him away, if he was worth a first round pick? So we could select another Mason Wood type with that first round pick?

Well, in that case, second half of 2019 we should have been playing him there to build up his trade value.

The unknown factor for mine, if Mason can finally contribute consistently, then our forward line of Brown, Larkey, Wood, Zurhaar and Thomas will scare the crap out of the top teams.

Plus Ziebell and then Higgo and Cunners potentially rotating foward. Skilled, hard bastard, medium forwards are the way of the future.

Can add further to well worded training notes above...

* Wood is trialling as a back man, is doing ok as well. We're really going to try and run the fu** out of our defence and deliver low bullet like passes to those further up the ground. No " hang time" is the call and yes we are practising this regularly.

Hopefully this works for Mase.
