Positives:
We are playing a very good brand of football still able to kick 100 points in a arm wrestle and when the opponent gets a run on we are able to repel/shut down their attack and counterattack of our own very good signs.

4-1 is a great first month to start the season and i would of taken that every time

Jai Serong is recruit of the year.

Small forwards feasted today with Papley/Rosas combining for 5 goals and lots of behinds
Papley is vital to the side and today had his best game in over a year.

Negatives:
0-7 from Amartey/Curnow
Its round 4
Grundy needs help

96 tackles and win with pressure

Talls kicked like shit but still beat a good side by 32.

Curnow seems a confidence player and when it gets hard and he’s struggling he gets lost a bit

Heeney best in the comp

Grundy best ruck in the comp

Mills looked dead in the first thought he was good

Paps great energy and play looks fit now, Roberts solid, Serong defensively great.

Shout out to McCartin and I thought Hamling looked good.

Hamling Lloyd Rampe all rookies?

Chad jmac Blakey etc had moments

Corey Warner is a midfielder but doesn’t play there.

Felt nervous they’d come and they never did, 96 tackles I’ll say it again

Curnow.

Discuss.

he'll be fine ... it's mental, probably overthinking stuff, certainly in his head tonight ... but it'll work out
he's still contributing, they all are ...
mcdonald's stats won't be great tonight either but he was really good, created contests
that was a really great win ... to keep that potent team to 68 points and dominate them ... very significant performance

96 tackles and no opposition contested marks says it all. This is why I love these games. Against good opposition on a narrow ground, I wanted to know how we would go in small territory under pressure. It says that we're not just a Plan A team. And for those that knock our key forwards, I say watch the game again stress free. They had 10 scores. Yes, they could have kicked straighter but look at their goal assists. Team first!

A patchy game from Sydney, but finished strongly for a comfortable 5 goal win against a side level on points going into today's game.
Sydney adjusted well to the very narrow wing areas at Norwood, and Heeney in vintage form in the midfield.
Not really a game for the tall forwards with a tricky wind, and later the rain but that was off set by Paps stepping up to carry the load.

Bar the goalkicking I thought that was a comprehensive and professional win built off terrific pressure and workrate.
Team defence to kick off the season has been a huge tick, Goodwin showing his impact.

Unreal performance again from TMac, Paps is really starting to build back to his roving best. Feel the maturity and continuity in this side is evolving, aided with the improvement of some of our role players like Roberts, Wicks, Serong etc which I'm loving. Still early days but really positive signs in many facets of our game.

I couldn't watch – how'd Hamling do? Looked solid as always and no contested marks suggests he and all of the defenders did well.

We showed today that we can play a contested style with double the number of tackles as GC and dominant in the clearances. Pleasingly though, still could run and gun when appropriate. Our defence was excellent, not conceding a single contested mark inside D50. Souring this was our poor conversion in front of goal with our key forwards the main culprits. Charlie in particular is a concern and its almost like the pressure is really getting to him.

Overall a solid performance with Heeney a clear BOG. Could he win the Brownlow this year?

Curnow.

Discuss.
Thought Curnow was excellent and his best game so far, created 4-5 goals with his strong contests and amazing pass to Rosas.

He should have kicked 4 himself, but had the yips, it happens to the best from time to time.

Amartey and Curnow both had nightmares from set shots, but both solidly contributed to the win which is all you want.

96 tackles Swans. NO contested marks taken by the Suns. Cracked 100 and for the moment we're back on top of the table.

Heeney's consistency this year has been fantastic. Such a gun player and he turned it on again today.

Good effort by our Defence up and down the ground. I thought McCartin great game. Bice and Roberts are coming along very nicely and are going to be hard to shift, play their roles perfectly.

If it wasn't for Amartey and Curnows goal kicking we would have won by 50 plus. Good to see Papley finally get going again. Heeney was bog by a long way. Defense stood up well McCartin was excellent. Great team effort.
Impressive win 4-1 start to the season hopefully no injuries and Sheldrick to replace Corey next week.
