Reckon Caddy will go forward and Pickett will come in on the wing.

The "three talls and a ruck" game plan worked last week, but I don't know whether it's worth putting young Samson out there weekly this early in his career to satisfy that forward line.
Would prefer us to play Jack, Caddy and the resting Chol/CJJ as our forward line, especially as we head into winter when games become more of a slugfest. That is unless we stay in warm, dry climates for the next month or so...
Yeah although it'd be nice to get a look at him I don't think he's quite ready and Caddy forward would be more dangerous surely.Reckon Caddy will go forward and Pickett will come in on the wing.

agree caddy should be forward pocket, only been saying it for 2 years straightReckon Caddy will go forward and Pickett will come in on the wing.

I see that. Like for like.....Late in for Prestia
Prestia plays taller than his heightI see that. Like for like.....

The problem with Caddy is that while he's a quality player, he doesn't really fit into Richmond's game plan since we got Lynch.
He's a '3rd tall', without actually being all that tall, and lacks the defensive side of his game for a (Richmond) small forward.
His forward ability, ability to pinch hit in the midfield, and has a good football brain and skills to use them all make him a good player, but it's hard to pin him down to a particular spot/role...
how hood were his second efforts when the ball hit the ground from his marking contest?Samson looked really good today against Willy. He has still got a lot to learn but the talent is definitely there.
He has the size and mobility to be an A grade ruck / forward.

I thought his ability to tap the ball to our advantage was a standout tooFor a skinny 21yo 206cm youngster, two things stand out about Samson, his ground play including second efforts, and his skills with the ball in hand.
Also wasn’t anywhere near as easily pushed aside as I expected after seeing his 2020 highlights.
Could be another big tick for the Ivan Maric stable this bloke.
He's still only 20For a skinny 21yo 206cm youngster
As Hood as you can get.how hood were his second efforts when the ball hit the ground from his marking contest?
Gotta be impressed by our talent spotters - to pick this kid out and have confidence to draft when obviously no one else rated him is a massive win for our club.
At 20 yo looks like he could be a very good ruckman was ultra impressive yesterday - just needs to tidy up a few things like giving away needless/silly free kicks and he's ready to go
You know what I love about Samson? He is a competitive beast the kid has aggression and hates loosing.Gotta be impressed by our talent spotters - to pick this kid out and have confidence to draft when obviously no one else rated him is a massive win for our club.

add 10kg of muscle - and another 1-2 years of guidance from Nank, Ivan et al on how to hurt - to that aggression and competitiveness and we'll have a complete ruckman! You know what I love about Samson? He is a competitive beast the kid has aggression and hates loosing.
Boods well!!!As Hood as you can get.
They put serious body pressure on him in many of those marking contests. A skinny bloke with his hands up is easy pickings for hard bodied VFL backmen. Half those frees were pretty unlucky as due to his height his elbow were at head level. Also grapling in a marking contest is a 50-50 thing, some of those frees could easily have gone his way, but of course being Richmond they rarely do.Only thing I think he could work on (although I am sure he is working on it)
Is his marking
He took some good contested marks yesterday but other times it’s almost like he forgets he has a very good reach advantage over his man and dosent commit to the contest
But definitely looks like we have found another late pick gem
