I love seeing the young kids call their families. All of his family were super proud. Go well young fella!

I think George shows a bit more up the ground and has a harder edge to him, can compete harder in the air too.
Castagna has taken one contested mark for the year. There is his greatest drop off which has translated into not going for the ball on the ground as much either. I cannot recall a proper crumb this year as he has stopped putting his head over the ball. It is all in his head, because he can do all I've mentioned. Needs to go back into the VFL and get those habits back. Has played one good game in about 8 weeks.

What annoys me is we have a hard, creative, skilled player, solid in the air for his size who could easily drop in and play small forward and be covered down back in Baker, yet we persist with him as an undersized defender... we saw how good he is up the ground yet I think he isn't fully utilised down back.

I’m so excited by this kid
He showed some things last week against Williamstown that show he’s going to be a beauty
Tough too
Yes he’s light in but he likes the contest and can clunk a mark

think he’ll be our number 1 ruck in 3 years and a little shocked he’s getting a crack this early. But perfect game to do it at the G in a light fixture against the Saints

Some kids thrive straight away so why not give him a crack hey

Reckon we'll have 3 or 4 #1 rucks - Nank, Soldo, Ryan and maybe Mate.

Our ruck depth is amazing. We're down 2 high grade AFL rucks and still have decent cover. :thumbsu:

I’m just as excited about the legend as as the man.

“The biblical account states that Samson was a Nazirite, and that he was given immense strength to aid him against his enemies and allow him to perform superhuman feats, including slaying a lion with his bare hands and massacring an entire army of Philistines using only the jawbone of a donkey. However, if Samson's long hair were cut, then his Nazirite vow would be violated and he would lose his strength.”

Love the part of the legend about slaying a lion. Just can’t let him cut his hair. [emoji23]

Gee, George must have some pictures of Dimma or something. How Rioli can be dropped 3 times already this season, yet George has played every game despite being as bad or worse is most games is horeshit.

George has been clearly better.

The hate on here is getting out of proportion - yes, he screwed up his final possession last match, but at least he was involved unlike Rioli who just goes missing entirely. It's not like he was on his own - Dusty's decision-making was equally poor towards the end of the match, and cost us two goals.

Does that book you are reading mention how old he was when he gained that superhuman strength, because right now he looks a long way from slaying anything, much less the lions by September.

What game was it that Castagna played well in? I can't remember it.

Has had a rough start but so did CCJ in his first half this year. Needs to get up the ground a bit. I don't think he has touched it

Poor kid. No doubt he has earns his spot and we need every bit of help we can get in the ruck. But still he is not ready. Needs another 30kg on him! I hope everyone supports him and no one trolls him etc. He has got a taste now and it will come with time and when he gets bigger.
