My Western Bulldogs Koumbaro- said he was soft - I haven’t seen that - just needs to tidy up his decision making when disposing of the ball and will be a great long term defender for us
He was a little soft at the start of the year.

But he isn’t anymore.

Wonder if he was given constructive feedback and has… developed. Aha

Has improved his game out of site from earlier games this year, growing in confidence & there’s a real noticeable belief in the way he plays now, improved defensively with his contested one on one impact, which still isn’t the finished product but much better than where it was at initially…
Developing nicely 👍

I don't think he was ever used in the same role as a KPD at the dogs, seemed more a jack of all trades tall utility there.

Either way has been fantastic for us, and we have got him as hes probably mentally and physically matured.
Of course he had an amazing game against us playing as an intercept defender - might even have been his debut.

Lucky for us Bevo hates playing defenders in position.

Who was to know he would turn out to be every bit as reliable as Liam Jones?

Not as spectacular but doesn't have the noticeable brain fades.

20ish games in and a revelation.

big future. (and a pretty decent present).

I thought even a few games ago that while he got plenty of spoils, he didn't tend to 'kill' the ball enough with them. Seems like he's already had some adjustment there.

Has done a tremendous job holding the fort with the main man not there and all other options down as well. Will hold him in a good stead moving forward.

Could allow us to deploy Weitering a bit differently, perhaps in a more proactive, attacking role. Young is a good match up for the super-talls (Lobb) or resting ruckmen.

I think they'll look good as a pairing, and then we audition for the role of interceptor in front of them. (Assuming McGovern and Marchbank can stay fit for a combined 4 games per year).

Any big tall player who has good hands and can take a mark has a lot going for them, it's those who don't who are the worry and he has it.

He's doing very well, he's definitely a confidence player. Early days he seemed to be really hesitant and unsure of himself at the contest. He seems to be becoming more sure of what he's attempting to do, either mark or spoil.

He's right at the point where talls come on and become AFL ready. He still has some developing to do. He needs to get stronger which will come and when it does he needs to learn how to use it.

He reads the game well, he's tall and can cover an opponent pretty well. He could probably improve his spoiling just that little bit more, a bit more oomph behind it and a bit more body on the man when he goes up but that will come. I think he's improved his ground level play which wasn't very good early.

He's going to be someone who can take the bigger slower forward while Weitering will want to be on who draws the most attention.

This period without Weitering will do his development the world of good and I am sure he is enjoying the challenge.

Dogs would not blink if they had the chance to take him back.

I know, you’d expect the mods to do better. I am disappointment, Effie! :(
