Lots of development in him.
Great signing, and he was a fantastic recruit.
At 24 and 43 games in he is a competent and durable key defender, who has the size to compete with any opposition player, and is quick enough to rotate, zone, and even harass small players when the ball hits the ground.
At a minimum, he can be a walk-up start as the second tall defender alongside Weitering for the next 6-7 years. If he develops further he can become very good to great, particularly with more experience, continuity, confidence, and the upper body strength that comes with age.
3 year contract is also a great decision - as above, we're paying him a fair level for someone who will play every week for 3 years. If he improves, we're getting excellent value right through age 28.
Well done to teh club on getting this sorted so early and efficiently IMO.

Played his best footy when Weiters (and others) were out.

Great news. Has all the attributes to be a very effective player in his position over his career. Will likely hit his most consistent output in 20-40 games time. A very astute pick up by Austin. Glad he's got the time to develop now.

I actually think, from the bits that I have seen and heard, that maybe his biggest struggle is with himself and his mind. Just seems to have the capacity to over think things at times.
I reckon this show if faith will be very helpful to him in helping him to achieve his best.
