What does it mean if they challenge ASADA and lose?
Millions of dollars down the drain to prevent players being banned for six month to two years.
They've muddied the waters enough by taking shots at ASADA by using spin doctors and sympathetic journalists.
ASADA wouldn't send out 34 SC notices for a S2 drug on a whim.
Do the crime, do the time.
Even Reimers thought it was unusual, but went along with it.
Basically if Little and Essendon* can drag this through the courts for long enough, the older players who would have retired because of the INs would be allowed to play out their last couple of years at the club, then retire and if the bans do go through, the club is in a much better position because they would have had a couple of years to replenish the list with bottom draft picks and rookie picks.
Little is saying that the investigation into Lance Armstrong should be used as the metric by which the length of time for the investigation should be measured. Lance Armstrong was only one person. Of course investigating one person is only going to take 6 months.
I suspect that this challenge based on the length of time for the investigation will be tossed out as soon as it gets in there as a spurious litigation. And I also suspect that as soon as that gets toss out, he will move onto the next time wasting measure. Essendon* wants this to take 2-3 years.
But as
Malifice said... this could end up costing them millions as the years roll on. And the thing that sucks is that the AFL will be using the new equalisation measures to prop up the scum with our money.
