Jeez louise, has anyone read the 'what is a passmark for the bombers in 2015?' thread on the main board?
One Essendon poster called their list management "exceptional"...and they're hoping for three years out of Cooney..
threads pointless. no point having a 'passmark' when the goals will be moved to suit Hird.

Oh, that thread. The one where people say that they'll make the top 4, as if they've been in a coma for the past two years. And forget it if you use the last two years as legitimate reasoning they why won't come close to finals.

Either way, they've ****** their list for a number of years. They've done what we did back in 2004 - getting players in from other clubs to prop us up, rather than playing kids. Essendon shouldn't have gone anywhere near these guys.
This is so true. You wonder how much of it is due to propping themselves up, how much is due to maintaining a strong image in that if they are not at least maintaining a descent position on the field in the meantime then it appears guilty. That whole American "dont show weakness" scenario. The fallout whether they are found guilty or not will still send them spiraling down the ladder. Spot on in they should have put games into the kids, and in the next few years when those players they recruited expire they are going to be left with a gaping hole. Chapman wont last much longer either. I think we can all see the writing on the wall for this club. Being found guilty will only worsen what is inevitable.

Was that really day 5 of submissions by ASADA? How can you possibly produce 5 days worth of material and not have a leg to stand on? Surely it must be a pretty damning case and for 5 days that must have really put together a really well constructed case.

This is true. Essendon* delusionists will be sitting around proclaiming still that ASADA have nothing and that the amount of material they have presented to the tribunal amounts to an admission that they have nothing on the players and that the players will get off.

However... for ASADA to have spent 5 days, so far, presenting their case on every individual suggests that Essendon* are well and truly gone and their scramble to recruit the top up players they did suggests that they are resigned to losing a significant number of players to the bans. They are just hoping that the members of the tribunal all have collective brain farts at the same time and find everyone not guilty.

The chances of that happening are worse than my chances of pulling Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston at the same time and their going along with it.

Maybe it was through interpretive dance?

Paraphrase and repeat yourself multiple times. In other words, keep saying the same thing in a different way. If you are really good, no one will notice if you slightly change your wording while essentially keeping to consistent theme. A thesaurus is very handy for finding new ways to express old ideas. In summary, impart identical information by apparently novel means and you can go on forever.

The loss of Ryder will hurt them so much. Having someone like him that can play in the ruck and up forward better than most is a massive advantage. Not a chance Giles is anywhere near the footballer Ryder is.

The other issue they had is any decent player didn't want to go anywhere near the joint. Cooney went there because Essendon* overpaid, and Gwilt, Giles and S.McKernan went there because no-one else was interested in them.

The loss of players with the ability of Ryder speaks volumes about how Essendons* brand has been tarnished forever.

When you lose quality players like him in these circumstances then that is really embarrassing for the club and that stain/stench will never go away.

I think even Essendon know their players are going to serve suspensions.
Why else would you recruit guys like Gwilt, Cooney, Giles and S.McKernan.
Apparently this is the calibre of footballer they have been lacking which will be pushing them into the top 4 in 2015.

Or so I've been reading......
