Yep. Possibly after hearing all of that evidence, some of them might have caved in and finally realised the futility of this. Remember, the SCNs were only a summary of evidence. Now the players see all of it backed up with interview transcripts, sms messages, e-mails, etc over an entire week.

True, but still ASADA have had plenty of time to prepare their tribunal case by now, unless you believe the lines coming from the Essendon camp that ASADA's case and evidence is falling apart.

Hypothetically, if the Bombers were to be given say 6 months bans, and basically miss the entire season, is that the end for Saint James as coach ? Suspect he would fall on his sword if that happens (well if he had any integrity left)
Pretty sure James would hold out for the mini series, TV deal and Knighthood before he fell on his sword.

I'm very confident of a very good outcome for players.

The players arent there to see any of it. Only legal representatives.

Trying not to defend Essendon* here but this protracted/delayed hearing for the players is unfair on them, and the club. Assuming the players are given suspensions, doesn't give the club much time to field/find able replacements for round 1 is it (let alone the pre season games)

Seriously getting sick of ASADA they are now arranging pre-planned meetings to discuss planning a meeting about setting a date to plan a meeting about the correct procedural matters in this case.

Its just lawyers and bureaucrats milking it out as long as possible.
It could have been all over nearly 2 years ago if not for the night of the long shredders.

Essendon* players and their group lawyers wanted each case tried before the tribunal individually. ASADA just laid out the whole shebang in a 6 day period for each player. Now it is up to the players and their lawyers to shit collective bricks and get off their fat arses and do something. They have nothing to defend with. They have gone into a gun fight with a toothpick and have appeared to have lost. There will be no plea bargins... no deals... they are all going to be shafted big time.

And as for Tird falling on his sword. He had the chance to do that over 12 months ago and missed and knifed Dave Evans in the back (which that prick deserved anyway). Hird has no integrity left at all.

The adjournment was probably their lawyers discussing a plea bargain with the players. Too late now you'd reckon? I'd say so based on these facts:

- The players sat by and watched their club attempt to have the investigation thrown out as unlawful, they even had representation during the case. Clearly they were behind the club in the matter.

- They did not respond to their show cause notices, despite ASADA being nice enough to give each of the 34 their very own "show cause pack", individually tailored for them because they had a cry that the previous notices didn't have a summary of evidence.

- They were too chickenshit to attend the trial in person, despite the fact that their careers and reputations are on the line. You'd want to front up and fight tooth and nail in person if it were something that important, which tells me the players are stupider than first thought or know they are ******.

Can't wait for the bomb to finally drop. All these parasites you see on the HTB who have never posted on BF otherwise will mysteriously vanish. Probably to France or where ever the glory be Golden Boy decides to go.

ASADA holding it up? Essendon took it to court to slow things down so they could get through last season unscathed on the field. You are barking up the wrong tree here. IN fact you are in the wrong forest.

I can tell you one thing that 6 days of submissions means: if the tribunal clears everyone, ASADA will look at WADA, hold their hands up and say "what more could we do?" And WADA will say "nothing at all." Then press a big red button with APPEAL written under it.

Have you read some of the comments on that page?

"Throughout history, the baddies eventually lose. Always".

I mean, seriously?
That, right there. Posts like that.
That is why they have to warn off opposition supporters. Too easy, too tempting, too fat a target.

100% right. The players have been rather complicit in this whole sideshow. They had the chance of coming clean months ago but continued to hide behind Essendon's* aprons believing in Hird that they had done nothing wrong. When in fact they were so far down the rabbit hole that they couldnt see daylight.

They will now be holding frantic conferences with their legal representation trying to work out how they can roll over on Essendon* and cop a deal now.
