In our top five and he ran out of steam due to the lack of inside midfield support. There were about five occasions he won a hard contested ball and all he had to dish off to was Ellis or Butler. Poor bastard looked demoralised, but he kept on strutting his stuff.
JGraham is good for a hard ball get!
Side needs a few changes to get value out of him...bring Ross back and Cotch!

His best game for quite a while and was good to see him getting hard balls and breaking out of congestion, but tired as the game went on. :thumbsu:
rotation/ran with the couch sisters and sloan, they sliced us up but jack battled away, his disposal was untidy, so he gets a par C+ from me.

You’re bagging Graham as he was our only genuine inside midfielder. Of course his DE is down when he’s the only bloke going in. Get on the Due and Corey/Brando pages as they’re you’re idea of a ball winner.
Graham’s first picked next week out of all of the kids bc he can win his own ball in the stoppages. He’s going to make a powerful midfield when he gets Ross Cotchin and Pickett alongside him and of course Nakkers the forgotten man. All you’ve done all night is bagged our hardest player on the night , yet avoided the real issues in our midgets in heart and stature Brando and Butler.

Agree Graham, Meatball and Martin battled hard but ultimately got outdone by a bigger well stocked midfield who was getting first use from the ruck

Those three blokes did everything they could

Caddy was and has been woeful in the guts and with his big body he let the boys down. Looked like Townsend out there last night.

Graham has to work on his skills and composure. It's all well and good to tackle and compete as he does but if you're going to butcher it all the time it hurts the team. Reminds me of Conca, although I think Graham has better attributes overall

Was very good tonight

Hes a player man - I know a lot of people think hes a plodder and for all intensive purposes he is, but plenty of plodders go on to be damn fine footballers. He still spreads from the contest ok and Ive often noticed when he looks extra slow its usually on the back of repeat efforts. Would bet my left nut his repeat efforts would be right up there at the club.

Fridge is an apt nickname for him, short by todays midfield standards but unbelievably strong through the core, he can go head to head physically with anyone. He was let off the leash last night - thats the type of footy hes capable of and should be looking to emulate. A good balance between see ball get ball and hitting the opposition and contest hard.

Good post. I thought his attack on the footy was brilliant last night and generally used it well. He frustrates me because he has proven what he is capable of but it’s just not there often enough. He is young, so I’ll give him that. Hopefully he can string a few good games in a row and cement his place in the team.

Was the last of our problems based on last nights game , No midfield support
These days you need 7-8-9 players running through the midfield we had 3
fair point... higgs and caddy were in there for big chunks which makes 5 but they were diabolical, vloss not much in there helping, probs also points to him playing sore.

Last night needs to become more of a week to week type performance rather than a once in a while showing. With better quality support around him his ability to hunt and win the footy will enable us to get the ball going our way more often than not as he'll be feeding the ball out to better ball users.
