Could probably do with a spell in the twos to get a bit of leather poisoning but there no way I’d be dropping him if his replacement was cellis. That’s a downgrade

The defensive jobs he is doing and doing well i might add are all part of his development, He will play more attacking game in a couple of years

Develop his defensive game then throw him in the midfield to create and win the ball
Agree I said this weeks ago , but people want 35 soft possessions with no tackles .
He’s playing a role beyond his years and developing his game where he will be a beast in two years time. His second half tonight was outstanding.
Can’t believe some of the dribble I’ve been reading on here about him , but I bit my tongue as it was only a matter of time before Jack would shut them up.

He actually gave Heppell a hard time tonight and was constantly bumping and ramming him at every opportunity was great to watch

Loving the way this kid is playing, You would never know he has less than 20 games and is 20 years old

did notice him annoying the shit out of oppos tonight

whenever he didn't win the ball he was constantly tackling and stagnating the play, causing either a free to us or at least a ball up. usually in the forward half

just based on what i saw i would be surprised if he's dropped

Thank you Dimma for acknowledging you made a mistake last week against port by resting Jack, and what a massive game he had today... Miles who?

Maybe he needed the rest. Maybe he was priming him for todays role? Helped us win today and put us on top. Fk Port... their turn will come!!

and maybe he was bluffed like many on here about a bloke that gets 30 plus possesions in the VFL everyweek but doesn't have the game or the skillset for the AFL who'd best attribute is diving on the ball..

He was dropped for Castagna. Miles came in for Martin. Both should have played . That was the real **** up. We lost two midfielders for only one back to face PA very good MF.

LOL .. the Miles vendetta continues.

Its not a vendetta its good footy selction policy, Miles would have been smashed by Geelong and his lack of defensive skills would have exposed our midfield far greater than it was yesterday.

If you dont get it by now you never will, 17 other clubs realised it last year, our match committee realised it but weakened to the temptation last week and it backfired, ill be surprised if he ever plays AFL again.

To be honest the only thing that seperates Miles and Townsend who was another that just couldnt play AFL mid but the difference is Townsend reinvented himself and showed versatility to come back as a defensive forward, Miles just cant do that he is a good bush footy mid that goes well against 2nd tier mids with one trick abd thats following the footy regardoess of where his man is.

Please explain why two clubs wanted Miles, but he elected to stay?
LOL ... good bush footballer! Miles won more of the ball than all but four players in his game.
Lots of bush footballers out there that night I'd suggest.

which 2 clubs? and they must not have wanted him bad as he is still playing reserves footy.

And regarding last week Mile's spent more time on ball that just about everyone else.

When you have no other AFL level skills you need to get the ball and win the ball a lot more than everyone else, just like Jack may not win as much ball but more than makes up for it with tackles, pressure and defensive running which according to some on here including myself and recently admitted by our coach means more to the team.

Nothing like a spell in the VFL to remove a players feel of entitlement. Best game of the year , his spell at VFL level like Bellis' was justified , they were both going half arsed and it serves as a reminder to others like Butler and Castagna.
The benefits of having our own competitive VFL squad are being realised.
