Please explain why two clubs wanted Miles, but he elected to stay?
LOL ... good bush footballer! Miles won more of the ball than all but four players in his game.
Lots of bush footballers out there that night I'd suggest.
I know that GC wanted him, but only for a rookie contract. Cant have been really into him considering they could have got for pick 80 odd!. What other club wanted him?

Nothing like a spell in the VFL to remove a players feel of entitlement. Best game of the year , his spell at VFL level like Bellis' was justified , they were both going half arsed and it serves as a reminder to others like Butler and Castagna.
The benefits of having our own competitive VFL squad are being realised.
He didn't play VFL last week but I get your point.

I guess we finally know how important Jack Graham is to us. :D

It has surprised me how important this kid is to our team and the way we want to play football.
I too came to realise it yesterday , certainly adds to physical side of contested ball in the midfield , didn’t help our centre clearances much though the umpires were registered with 6 straight out of the cbd

Don't know what other club it was but it was only for a year long contract I believe, same thing he was being offered by us.

would not surprise me if he is thrown a lifeline at carlton at the end of the year as a delisted free agent or a late draft pick swap
Gold Coast & Essendon could also be an option

I dont subscribe to the theory that Miles would get a game in the bottom teams.
They would be better off developing a 19yrold instead of Miles.
He would be better off going to a team challenging for the 8

watched graham really closely on the replay from sunday. his will to compete is exceptional. watch him, be involved in a tackling contest and he is the 1st up and running to be involved in the next and the next again. he's not quick and he maybe, doesn't get enough disposals but his importance to the team as a whole is vital.

Still believe his role is not going to accumulate him many possessions, its more about him pressuring his opponent so that we pick up intercepts and transition quickly. His harrassment leads to alot of turnovers upfield due to players being rushed or simply perceived pressure.

There was the game earlier in the season I cant off the top of my head remember which where Cotch was out and i believe for that game his role was changed and he picked up a higher number of possessions as a result.

Its another selfless type role similar to Jack R whereby their roles greatly assist the team but at the cost of appearing high on the stat sheet. This attitude of players and the system we now play under is what makes us a successful team unit.

Been watching Graham and Conca a bit lately and both seem to be not really having a man except at stoppages, both seem hellbent on guarding the corridoor and when the ball comes thru there, they pounce like mad dogs and often will both tackle and disable the ball carrier, Conca is given a bit of license to be a playmaker and mop up when the ball spills while graham seems assigned to block, scrap and get to the next contest, Grahams ball winning skills needs a bit of polish, no doubt there.... but his instructions may be to forget the pill unless its obvious, just attack the bloke that gets it or is going to and cause a turnover.

Yea no doubt that part of his game, was better than I had earlier thought , I too watched him closely , reckon he could lose a few lbs like caddy and undoubtedly would help improve his pace

The 2nd half of the game Graham was in Abletts face every time ablett go near the ball

Agree on him shedding some kgs for some pace/agility. Wasn’t he a bit chubby when he was drafted? I remember his goal in our forward 50 against Essendon about 40m out. It was a good goal but he looked he took forever to turn around and take a shot.
