The funny part is that he will retain his spot in the side after spudding it up all night, yet Dumont plays well and is dropped, go figure ?!?!?
Spot on, why did we drop Dumont when he played well and we're short on midfielders?

Macmillan did not/could not man up after Hawthorn's repeat entries and then, looking exhausted, spent 10 minutes on the bench in the 3rd quarter getting rub downs which stuffed up our rotations. He wasn't injured though, just not fit/prepared enough to play AFL. Ridiculous that he didn't come through the VFL.

Did not deserve to come straight back in.

Was pox.

How he still hasn't learnt to not over commit to one side when tackling is truly mind boggling.
This.
Macmillan can't even do the simplest things right, doesn't seem to learn or improve.
I'm very average at footy but a quality leader at my organisation. Can I play too Brad?
Haha quality, the crux of our match committee

I thought I would cry every time he kicked or handballed the ball down the throat of Hawks player, or alternatively try something 'cute' that ended in disaster.

Other than that he must be a top bloke to get leadership noms after doing s.f.a for 12 months.

Happened once, and happened because he was a one against three with NO support and was trying to cover the angle... Gee the overreactions on the "whipping boys" is hilarious!!! Mason Wood missed twice the tackles, turned over the ball twice the amount, and shit himself when he didn't want to take responsibility to kick it out of the backline and HANDBALLED to a stationary unsuspecting Thompson, who duly fumbled and gave away a free... But we all love Mase and his potential!!!!
Mason Wood was playing his 5th game.

He like Turner and Brown have different expectations placed upon them given their standing in the game.

JMac was underdone. He just was, we knew it before the game and it played out that way.

My issue isn't how he played, my issue is that we knew that we'd likely have to carry him to a degree against the reigning premiers and played him anyway. It was a game we could ill afford passengers and we fronted up and did it anyway.

Yeah I understand leadership and all that stuff, I understand that others were probably worse, but we aren't exactly playing sparkling footy and we chose to go in with guy who hadn't played footy in three weeks.

So as a matter of interest who would you have played instead??? Dumont?? But it would have been his second game, and he would have "different expectations". If Luke had been fit, maybe JMac wouldn't have played last night, but again although he was out on his feet.... I reiterate that I thought he was ok last night.

Lachy had zero preseason. JMac had a massive preseason! And missed three weeks, slightly different.

Lachie is the best contested mark in our side and one of our strongest natural runners. He isn't one that if rush back but if back him to show up after a layoff more so than McMillan.

Historically Jaimie's returns from injury have been crap. It's ridiculous that he is a walk up start especially when even at his best he is only average.

Yeah and from all reports he still doesn't quite look right at VFL level.

Also maybe watch the EF from last year.... JMac was pretty darn good. Second game back granted, but I didn't see the Melb game the week before so can't comment.

Sam Gibson, if he for some reason visits BF, would be so happy with the shit that is being posted in this thread. Taking the heat right off him.
Although Gibson has his obvious flaws, I think he offers a lot more than JMac at this point in time.

Can't believe I wrote this.
