The circumstances were he had to go to Boomer straight away, he held on to it gave a slow handball and sold him into trouble.

It would also be good to see him go like a madman more often and not only when he wants to fix the mess he created.
Maybe watch it again mate... What you are saying is not quite what happened.

Watched it 3 times, live once and on TV twice.

I'm not a J Mac hater but I think he has been poor in his last 2 games. As I've said previously in the thread he can't be judged properly to he gets some game time under his belt and Scott has shown that's going to be at senior level and not at Werribee.

I think they are grooming him for Spud's role when he retires and thats why they want him to play every week. I think Jacobs will make way for him in the short to medium term once Dal and Wells need to come back into the side. I dont agree with that on form at the moment but I do think Jmac is a better player than Jacobs when both at their best.

I didnt really notice him on Friday and i dont really mind this plan of Brad's of giving him some time in the seniors to get back to good form. I never used to rate Jmac but his form at the start of 2014 and in the elimination final against the * he was fantastic so I can see why they rate him very highly

Just put it to that bit again.... Boomer was running away from JMac, with his back to him when JMac turned and ran. When the only option got shut down further up the ground Boomer turned and ran back to JMac calling for the ball. It was a horrible hb no question. But it was never an option to go to him first.

Watched it again and happy with my assessment like you're happy with yours.
I'll repeat again, not a hater, he's been poor in his last two game but can't be judged to he gets some games under his belt.

Very generous thread title.

Was ordinary on Friday night but considering first game back (when arguably should have been in the VFL) that is understandable.

Hopefully improves in next couple of weeks.
This, thread title needs adjusting.
Would switch thread titles with the Jacobs thread title

Jmac was poor again

13 possessions, 1 tackle and a couple of howlers. If Jamie gets a special thread title for that effort, then we'd better update Ziebell's to announce the second coming of Christ.

Or did we already do that?
What were the howlers??

He made up for that one with a top drawer 2nd effort to force a stoppage though.... And your other?
You really want me to rewatch the game so I can tell you about one error? If it makes you feel better, you can change my post to ONE howler. Doesn't change my point at all though.

Forcing a stoppage from the position he was in is not "making up for it". The ball should have gone to Boomer or a player further up the ground, instead he got caught in the headlights and coughed it up.

I was happy to see him come in because I thought he'd provide more run and defensive pressure than Dumont would have, he didn't.

With Wood and Mullett coming back into the side, Dumont looming and Fordham showing outside running potential, JMac is on borrowed time.

I could go on and on about this, but I disagree.... Leave it at that.

Yeah, I can't help but butt in...

JMac marks and there's a *bloke between he and Boomer. The defender knowing Boomer is the more dangerous user of the ball, peels off JMac and closes the space that Boomer was running in.

JMac then plays on so the * bloke runs towards JMac and in the meantime *Jobe has time to push up to the ball.

Horrible handball no doubt, but credit to the * bloke (I feel dirty saying that).

JMac had an ok game. This play ^ wasn't a howler nor was the second effort from the top shelf. The Essendon defenders played it well and made it difficult and JMac put in a solid 2nd effort. I'd give his game a C+

Positive thread title: "#34 Jamie McMillan - bit weird that he gets automatic senior return when Levi spent years looking for half that reassurance, but justified with a C+ performance"
Not strange at all and the reasons for which have been explained over and over and over.

But yeah, photos, mummy and daddy provide six figure donations on the premise Jamie plays seniors etc.

My submission;
"Needs to do more to justify spot in the team"

With Wood, Mullett, Dumont all looking for spots, including the potential return of Dal and Wells later in year, we can't and shouldn't carry mid teen possie midfielders who aren't damaging, ordinary defensively and don't often hit the scoreboard.

I think he can and will improve, but I also think he needs to.
