Positive thread title: "#34 Jamie McMillan - bit weird that he gets automatic senior return when Levi spent years looking for half that reassurance, but justified with a C+ performance"
haha I like it.

In regards to player thread titles in general I think they should just be the stats from the players last afl/vfl game so for macmillan the thread title would be 13 disposals etc. Keep it factual or newsworthy eg)player x back in the team or started as sub, injured or signed a new contract etc.
My submission;
"Needs to do more to justify spot in the team"

With Wood, Mullett, Dumont all looking for spots, including the potential return of Dal and Wells later in year, we can't and shouldn't carry mid teen possie midfielders who aren't damaging, ordinary defensively and don't often hit the scoreboard.

I think he can and will improve, but I also think he needs to.
agree with you again, still think he should be made to earn his spot in the vfl

I think the overall idea that we're trying to convey with the thread titles is the current topic of discussion surrounding the player. Hence Mullett's "in the mix?" and Jacobs' "dividing opinion".

I understand but think people will discuss those things regardless of thread title hence keeping it factual with stats or news would be the best way to go and keep it neutral instead of slanted in a certain direction imo

How does the current thread title suit? I believe it's not exactly leaning towards any specific side of the issue, and is related to the current discussion surrounding Jamie.

(A reminder to all - if a thread title is genuinely objectionable - you're welcome to report it by reporting the OP and explaining your objection to the title)

Hasn't had a good run at it since 2013, except for a small patch last year where he played well and was leading our best and fairest.

People are assuming he hasn't or won't improve on his form as an inexperienced 21 year old. People are bemused as to why that kid from two years ago is a walk-up in our side, but I bet those who have watched Jamie train and have been around him for the past two years aren't surprised at all.

I hope we get to see his improvement once he finally strings some games together.

Not strange at all and the reasons for which have been explained over and over and over.

But yeah, photos, mummy and daddy provide six figure donations on the premise Jamie plays seniors etc.
Yeah, nah. Put me in that category if you like, but I've never been that kind of poster.
I find his automatic senior berth "a bit weird", and being derided for this moderate opinion won't change my mind, or stop me from hoping he reaches his full potential :thumbsu:

Look I'm not having a go at you personally but surely that is not fact.

He was ok last year, and quite good in the elim final, and was adequate against the svum on Friday, but leading our best and fairest?

Before he broke his leg against Port (?), he was leading the B&F.

I believe this was verified during the Syd count.

He had 7 votes after 3 rounds.

Adams had 8, as did Thompson.

Cunnington had 7, Thomas had 6, Hansen had 7.

#1: Adams, Thompson (8)
#2: Cunnington, Hansen, MacMillan (7)

Does the fact that Gibbo had a belta of a game mean that you have to take all of your misguided frustration out on JMac??

Reckon calls of Jamie only getting a game because of his parents are crossing the line of poor taste.

Staggering that someone can identify as a NMFC supporter and say that sort of thing and be comfortable with it.
I couldn't agree more. It is downright shit.
Apparently it's ok to make outlandish bullshit comments about players, but not other posters.

I have no frustration re: either of them.

They are both ordinary footballers.

They were both fine on Friday night FWIW.

Support starts and end with me buying multiple memberships and attending games. Including Geelong in Geelong. And at least one interstate game per year.

I, and I only speak for me, but I don't accept that because they play for North we are unable to question their output. Or indeed float conspiracy theories as to why ordinary players are continually selected over better performing VFL players.

Last time I checked, we live in Australia, not Russia. Free speech is welcomed. Social acceptability and politically correctness are blights on society and now this board.

So yeah, with limited due respect... go and get ******.

World vision has infiltrated our supporter base, we are here to win flags, not be socially acceptable and nice to everyone. I'm a savage competitor, i love to win... i couldn't give a **** about what's left in my wake. If you don't like my tone, put me on ignore, that's what its there for.

Hate to break it to you, shags - your opinion of players or the team has **** all bearing on whether NMFC is going to win a premiership or not. And I can honestly say that's a bloody good thing, because many - well most - of your opinions are toxic, ignorant and ill-informed.

You are welcome to your gutter opinion. God knows I don't want it. But constantly subjecting everyone to your diatribe and bile-ridden keyboard spew is growing tiresome and bringing down the forum atmosphere.

You're right - although not legislated, free-speech is indeed welcomed in Australia, and BigFooty. That doesn't mean we have to sit hear and cop that bullshit, infantile conspiracy theory rubbish with a smile on our face. I think I can speak for many/most when I say that if you want to peddle that crap you can **** off to Russia, as you mention...

...with all due respect, of course.

Totally agree and a big part of why I was offended by BTron bringing it up when quoting my earlier post.

It does zero to contribute to intelligent discussion.

Personally, I blame the parents that are giving their pre-teens free access to use the family computer.
